I am not usually in the camp of making a quick change but something has been off this whole season. Hasn’t felt right even in Week 1 as they were struggling early against SE LA. My personal opinion is that Arnett only got the job because of extreme circumstances, and therefore State would be justified in making a move if needed. Especially with his boss not being the one that hired him. I don’t dislike Arnett but I think if State had been given the luxury of a normal coaching search last year, he wouldn’t have gotten the job. If State gets to 6 wins I fully believe he’s back. If they go 5-7 I think it’s 50/50 and depends on how competitive the Egg Bowl is. 4-8 or 3-9 and I don’t see how you can proceed on this route. Maybe that’s impatient. But State can’t allow itself to have a major question mark at head coach for very long. Not when you compare Arnett to the other coaches in this league, and are adding two more blue bloods next year who seem to be on the uptick.

My point is every school in the state would take that consistency.

Hey I understand where you are coming from. West Point should still be the favorites out of 5A North until they get dethroned and that hasn’t happened yet. Their loss to Clarksdale wasn’t detrimental by any means. They just may not have the top seed, but to me that really doesn’t make any difference.

I will say this though, it’s going to be better for West Point if they can build off of a win instead of trying to search for answers in another loss. I don’t think the latter will happen because this is the time of year where things start to get figured out in The Point City.

Go get a dang win. That’ll be a place to start. It doesn’t have to be pretty because there’s no such thing as style points. Lafayette is usually a good ball club, but it should be within West Point’s wheelhouse to take care of business Friday night.

I was thinking this would be the year y’all would get a reprieve and maybe it still is. But you’re absolutely correct. A good football team will stop a vanilla offense any day. Sometimes you gotta shake things up LOL.
