GCS was purely the aftermath of Covid and someone pulling in public school talent to win in private school ball. A team like that is assembled and was the result of years of public school toughness, coaching, and strength training being thrown into private schools. Thats why they annihilated all those trash private schools. Lamar has a -3 in strength of schedule. NEGATIVE. I'm glad you're proud of them but you sound ridiculous with all your hypotheticals.

Yeah, Lamar is basically MRA lite. Lamar's head coach played for Davis in high school, and then was his OC one year. Lamar's defensive coordinator, is Davis's son. Lamar runs basically MRA's offense. Also, more kids in the Madison area. MRA would win that one big.

Plans have been put in place to replace the scoreboard and improve the press box (which is probably one of the largest in the state). Obviously, those take $$$. Coach Boyles is working on getting the team back up where they should be. The improvements will come with the team. He has already engaged with alumni to build the support of the team up again. That will take time but I can tell you people around the community are excited about the Wildcats again. Cheyenne Trussell is an excellent AD as well and he is doing a tremendous job with the athletic department. I think those proposals and more will come to fruition in time. I would think it would be a long shot to host a couple of state championship games but the idea is intriguing and may come to have some merit in the future. We will see.

You guys get a little too caught up in distance for fan travel for games for that matter. It’s been proven time after time that fans will travel to the state title games doesn’t matter what city it’s in. From Hattiesburg all the way to Oxford.
