  1. The head coach/AD very well could in the 6/7 class period scenario use 1 class period as free to grade papers and conduct AD business. He could also have 2 class periods coaching Jr High Football. That leaves him 3/4 classes to teach.

  2. They are still suffering from some bad decisions from years ago. A principal and an AD ran off good teachers and good coaches. They had everything running well under Burton and Boozer. They won the All-Sports award back in those days. Then they had 2 or 3 years of mass exodus with the next administration. They have never fully recovered. I feel like they should have promoted Bolton and kept that staff together to keep it consistent. But they went the completely opposite direction. Anyway. With all those businesses on county line, the renaissance, and around town, they had tons of financial support. That seems to have fallen off too. They have the tools in place. They just have to find the right personnel to get it all back on track and get community support built up to what it once was. I felt like Sam had it going in the right direction but I don't think anyone would question his move to Brandon. They need someone young with a lot of energy and personality. Going after the older "established" coaches who have one foot out the door towards retirement isnt the way to go for long term program building. I wish them all the best. It would be nice to see them get back to where they used to be in all sports.

  3. Nice wins for Ole Miss and State women tonight after tough losses over the weekend. State's win being huge as it was over Arkansas who is also on the bubble with State for the last few at large bids. Ole Miss moves to 21-7 overall and 10-5 in SEC play. They'll finish the regular season at Alabama on Thursday. A win and they finish 4th in the SEC standings. A loss and they finish 5th and Alabama finishes 4th. State moved to 20-8 overall and 9-6 in SEC play. Unfortunately State finishes the season with a game in Baton Rouge. Assuming the loss, they'll finish 9-7 in SEC play and most likely the #7 seed in the SEC tournament. If State does figure out a way to pull out an upset that will lock up their bid to the NCAA tournament and would put them finishing 5th (if Alabama were to lose) or 6th (if Ole Miss were to lose).
