Just outta curiosity is wing t still a thing outside of Mississippi? I know here in Texas its nonexistent.
-
Well he’s got 2 state championships, Raleigh has 2 state championships, and Mancuso has like 9. West Point doesn’t run a wing-t but they also don’t run the spread. But I get it, some fans just dont really want to win unless they see the ball in the air.

I forgot about his wing offense. I remember not wanting to hear anything else after finding that out. It would never work at WC and i don't want to see it here ever again. If they were going to put a Buffalo Wild Wing in the city I would lobby against it. It's probably the reason no bigger jobs have came after him. Raleigh coach too.

I enjoy MSJUCO football. Lets me get a head start to a weekend of football. And being from Hattiesburg I have PRCC Jones and MS Gulf Coast within 40 miles to go watch a game. Tomorrow is the only week where all 3 are on the road at the same time. After that my Thursday night are booked as one of them will be at home for the rest of the season. -

Since UGA and Alabama have won 11 of the last 12 SEC Championships, does that make the SEC less interesting? I just simply think that the gap between #1 and #14 isn’t as huge as it used to be. Heck MS Delta beat Co-Lin. Anybody can beat anyone any given Thursday. -
He was one of the finalists to get the West Jones job when Pierson retired. Word was he really wanted it. Soso and Stringer border each other so he wouldn't have had to even move. They viewed him to be a really good coach, but the Wing-T baggage scared the powers-that-be and they went with Reynolds. I was at the Enterprise/Stringer game. It was back an forth well into the 3rd QTR and a couple of turnovers proved to be the difference. Both teams were well coached. Stringer will be in the mix in South 1A, as long as key players stay healthy. Enterprise may make some noise in 2A also.
-
They were always thought to beat every year, not just when they had good OL and runningbacks.
-
He's from stringer. He played for stringer and his kids have always went to stringer. He’s done nothing but win everywhere he’s been. They will likely win their region and compete for 1A south state this year. I don’t think he’s really truly that interested in leaving Stringer, but nobody will turn down an interview. It’s business.
-
Stringer is home for Brady. He graduated from there, his wife works there, his sons go to school there, and his nephew plays there. I think he saw his opportunity to go home and revitalize Stringer’s program while also being with his family and took it. Stringer was coming off 3 straight 2 win seasons when he arrived. He helped more than double their win total to 5 in his first year, and they are coming off a 9-3 season in his second year. Last Friday, they did not have a good showing. Several turnovers and poor defensive performance. 1A is not very strong this year though, so even with a not so great loss to a middle of the road 2A team, they still will be competitive down the stretch. I think the potential is there for them to win their district, go 7-3 or 8-2, and make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs or farther. If they fix the turnover problem they had Friday, I think their offense will be hard to stop by the competition they face.
-
He's wing T throw it down the sideline a few times. When he had the OL and RB's at Bay Springs they were tough to beat.

Playing field wise yall are good. Forest Hill has a nice field. Neighborhood wise get out ASAP. Stay away from Robinson Road and get on Hwy 18.

South Jackson and Hughes are ok. Forest Hill does have their stadium on campus. Like Vott has mentioned before, the one you want to avoid is the North Jackson field. -
WA plays them they beat WA right at the end may have been OT not sure about that part. They had a stud running back that graduated. WA goes to there this season they were pretty salty last season. He’s old school blood and guts wing T coach.

It’s Forrest Hill right if so I think they have a field on campus. The last time I was there it was down under a hill. Now I could be dead wrong I’ve been to so many places. But Jim Hill and Wingfield unusually played at Hughes field in Jackson. -
Another thing I should have worked into the list is Stringer. Their coach came to Waynesboro and campaigned for our job. Actually, I think he was called but all that is to in the past. I thought he was a good coach? Is stringer not good ? His names out there a lot. something else has been on my mind since I heard about him during that time. As many openings as there was this last hiring period why didn’t he get another job? Has he got a bad rap ? it could be that he just loves stringer that much.

No better place to lick your wounds and get in the W column then Jackson. When Hankins schedule this game, I’m sure he saw it as some cheesy win. What field can we expect to play on. ? What you read in the news from there I don’t know what to expect.. Last time I was there it was probably 10 years ago. I think it was Wingfield, but I’m not 100%. The bleachers on both sides look like something you poured up there with a tractor. The ones on our side weren’t even all the way parallel to the field. For all I know it may be so degraded that we play in the back of a church on a half dirt half grass goat pasture. A really interesting thing that would make a good story happened to me after I left that game. Some things I need to take to my grave I guess. -

This was probably the straw that broke the camels back in regards to his criticism. EMCC has ran a major deficit financially for football and I would imagine they will adjust their budget significantly soon. Plus he has a full MSPERS pension and is 59 years old with not the same success as in his past as of late. He was hired at PRCC in 2001 and has 25 years in with the state. $124k salary and will collect around $62k a year until the day he dies. Plus with new NCAA recruiting and nil rules the talent is harder to come by for EMCC. IDK if anyone has ever been to Scooba but there is not much to do there. - Yesterday

Certainly have mixed feelings about his firing. Not sure that his outburst warranted being fired but obviously there is more to this story. Instead of calling the Board idiots he should have said what they have done is idiotic. One thing is for sure, EMCC will never match the success they had under him again. But they did Bull Sullivan the same way over 50 years ago. Will be interesting to see where he lands. He is a winner and knows how to coach difficult players in a way that creates success. -

I will add this also. Of those “close” games week 1 that you stated. Go and see how many of those teams had new head coaches and or coordinators. Hard to prepare for someone when you have no clue what they will line up in. As the year goes on I bet those CLOSE games disappear. It happens every single year. -

As the season unfolds the same 3 teams will be left standing as are every year. Week 1 is “always” like that because new coaches means new systems that others coaches aren’t prepared for. I wouldn’t expect someone that just checks a scoreboard to know that. Colin, Gulf Coast, EMCC, and Northwest will be the final say with maybe a Hinds showing up every blue moon. Week 1 & 2 scores are usually close and that’s about it. I won’t watch another game and I will bet you now that the eventual champion will be in the group i sent. Real Competitive. 2025: Northwest Mississippi 2024: Northwest Mississippi 2023: East Mississippi 2022: East Mississippi 2021: Northwest Mississippi 2020: Northwest Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) 2019: Mississippi Gulf Coast (also NJCAA National Champions) 2018: East Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) 2017: East Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) 2016: East Mississippi 2015: Northwest Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) 2014: East Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) 2013: East Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) 2012: Copiah-Lincoln (Co-Lin) 2011: East Mississippi (also NJCAA National Champions) -

Pound is back home and it shows in everything they are doing right now. Our last coach didn’t even participate in the ninth grade games. He stayed at home. Tracy is right out there with him. Most of those players you wouldn’t even hear about it a year. They would run them off. I think-some days he’s not even going back home and sleeping I think he’s staying up at the field house. He loves it just that much. I hope people begin to finally see there how much that program was being held down. Intentionally. -
