Opening night was tonight, State and OM both got wins, Hard to tell a ton against weaker competition, but with Jans and Beard, it would be surprising if both teams weren’t improved this year. How much improved? TBD.

I agree on the WJ o-line. We came out with a game plan to throw it downfield. But takes time for those routes to be ran and Lindsey had no time. We changed at half to shorter slant routes and quicker throws. Why couldn’t we do that in the 2nd QTR? it was obvious we couldn’t block them and we never tried to run the ball to slow the rush down.

Yes, it will suck. But somebody is going to have a sucky drive no matter how you shake it out. It would be the same amount of driving overall if seminary were in region 5. Their closest drive would be 45 minutes to Raleigh, the rest would be an hour and a half. If St. Andrews and Pisgah are both in region 4 that would at least give you an opponent only 30 minutes apart. I think this gives the best the best overall balance. No matter how you paired them, somebody is gonna get a bad draw.

Back in the Big 8 days, Meridian was in the Coastal Division. We were in the division with Moss Point, Gulfport, Gulfport East, Pascagoula & Biloxi. Then later the two Gulfport schools consolidated. The Central Big 8 had Laurel, Hattiesburg, Natchez, Murrah, Callaway Provine, Winfield and Jim Hill. So go figure how that made any geopolitical sense… The 7/5/5/7 set up looks to be the one that makes more sense.

What will it mean to you if by chance petal missed the playoffs? Its possible, but not likely
-
Does this prove that there’s no need for 7 classes? IMO if there’s talk for a 5 team region there’s no explanation for having 7 classes except for more money.

Ill take another road trip to Starkville

West Point is the 4 seed and will play at Leake in round 1 -
Hburg is starting to play like we thought they would in the beginning of the season. The oline has slowly been getting better, our starting rb is finally healthy and the defense has stepped up big time. Hhs is just a bad match up for WJ. I can see a rematch from last season with hhs vs picayune in south state.

First off it’s really good to see Meridian back in the fold. You guys that are on this board especially. Y’all toughed it out and were proven correct that the support and kids were still there . All that was someone that could jump in with both feet from day one and make everyone see it could be done again. Big game Thursday. Petal. This part is gonna piss some people off, but I don’t care. You’re gonna have to swallow it. You wanna win something besides pre-District titles? For starters quit being jealous of what other people has when it comes to football. I don’t know if part of your jealousy is to try to go in and take coaches from other schools because of your jealousy or you don’t have what it takes deep down in your guts to pull yourself out. Before you grunt out, ” he just mad because Marcus left and came here” I’m going to respond with you damn right I am. Boyles never thought about leaving until he started communicating with Petal over a home and home game. Lo and behold a few months later he’s dressing in that ugly red. I know who did it. I know who was behind it. He moved to Petal from Waynesboro. I want to call out this horse faced choad so bad man ,lol .Some of his family are my friends I wouldn’t want them hurt . Hell I know him and he knows how I feel . Not second hand either. I better stop with this part for now and revisit later when I can convey my feelings in a more civilized manner. Moving about the WC people again has stirred a lot of memories up/ Chief being most have no clue on the events of that fall and are blaming the wrong people, More on this later. Pound Lampley is nitro grade fuel. Very few things run on Nitro. Hancock will win a playoff game this year. Diberville will not Don’t look now West Point has a good chance to make it in the playoffs. What happens after that people can make up their own minds. Madison Central keeps stumbling around like Rocky Balboa. Question is, Is it Clubber Lang 1 or 2 Rocky ? There is something about college football that is off putting to me that grows more every year. Point being I wish the MHSAA would entertain the idea of some playoff games on Saturdays during the daylight. Safer environment and more convenient for the elderly and shut in to go see the games. I get the feeling the coach at Pass doesn’t give a rat’s pill hole where this one or that one thinks he should be, He’s doing it his way . That’s freedom brother. To the playoffs. Have a safe week

Which one of these teams going to the playoffs will catch fire because right now it just looks like a few piles of brush smoking.

But.... if Terry beats Hattiesburg by 9 WJ is no.1 Terry no.2 and Hattiesburg would be the no.3. The GC/Picayune matchup is the only one set in stone
-
That sounds really settled doesn't it? LOL.
-
Yep. GC/Picayune and PRC/Hattiesburg would be rematches from last yr. Then other two matchups are Gautier/West Jones Terry/Hancock
-
That's a good way of looking at it. If the chalk holds on this, it would send Gautier to West Jones and PRC back to Hattiesburg again. Would we get George County again too?
-
Tiebreakers. Would have to see who beat who and how bad. Remember you only get 12pts on a tiebreaker. So on a tiebreaker, a 20pt on field victory would only be a 12pt victory in solving a tiebreaker. I see Gautier beating Goula. Hancock will beat Long Beach unless Hancock wants to rest a few guys and not risk injury. Picayune could do the same as them and Hancock are already locked in at no.1 and no. 2 seeds. But I see Goula and Long Beach out. And since Gautier beat PRC they would be the 3 and PRC the 4.
-
I still think Hancock would have the 2 seed if they lost to Long Beach, so really it's about determining the 3 & 4 seeds and who gets left out.
