  2. That's right. And the coach that won the 1st one, and built the team that won the 2nd one, is back.
  3. It boils down to the non-region portion of the schedule to get teams prepared for region play and/or playoffs. I realize there's teams out there that schedule the non-region portion as it correlates to skill set, but you don't want it to be 5 cupcakes either. You need some animal protein in there somewhere.

    Class 6a south 2026

9 weeks from today you can play a jamboree. How is everyone feeling about their team heading into the season?

    Long Beach

They start region play this year with Gautier. Maybe they could steal one there.
  7. That was the key. They threw very few mistake pitches over two games.
  8. Vott

    Long Beach

Region game losing streak. They’ve won some non region games.
  9. Merlin

    Long Beach

May need to schedule a bad 2A school.
  10. West Jones won 2 with a bunch of juco kids on the rosters. 1 kid in the ‘20 team went straight d1 (Usm) after his high school career was over.

Yikes. Who can they beat to stop that streak?

    Long Beach

While looking ahead to the 2026 season and looking at different teams mostly in 5a 6a and 7a, I was not aware that Long Beach was on a 43 game region losing streak.
  14. Pitchers kept Phelps and Jackson down which prevented any emotional uplift. Oklahoma pitchers showed how to truly just trust your stuff and let it go and there weren't many mistake pitches for UGA to chomp on.
  15. I don’t think the stadium was the issue for Georgia. Texas & Oklahoma’s pitching was outstanding and then I do think some frustration set in with Georgia. But I think it was more great pitching than anything else. Those pitchers were mixing and matching their pitches, changing speeds and hitting the corners to almost every batter. They kept Georgia’s hitters off balance all four games. And OK may ride this momentum all the way to the championship. That is very possible. But I think it is also possible that this crest of a wave that they are on could crash. And overall UNC is a better ball club. We will see.
  16. Everyone who said Georgia’s style of play was going to be an issue for them in Omaha, congratulations, you got it right. I have UNC winning it all, but the Oklahoma story is pretty crazy. I don’t think anyone really saw this coming. It’s not even an OM 2022 situation where OM was clearly an underachieving team all season and just figured it out late. No, OU is kind of a young team that had an unremarkable year and all they’ve done is taken out the ACC champ, Big 12 champ, and SEC champ over the course of 3 weeks.
  17. I think OU may win it. This is setting up to be like it was when Ole Miss won the CWS. Got hot at the right time and played well. And Ole Miss won the title vs Oklahoma.
  18. Yes. SoCal had them beat until they didn’t. Speaks to the strength of the SEC that the 11th place team is playing for a Natty. Honestly, I don’t have much interest in watching OK and UNC. I thought Georgia would get it going tonight but they did not. Gut feeling says UNC will win it all.
  19. Does anyone but me realize UNC had to rally in the bottom of the 9th of the super regional of game 3 to get to the world series
  20. Last week
  21. North Carolina advances to the finals, they've been putting on quite a show in Omaha. Georgia has been so good this year and Oklahoma is playing on fire this postseason... we'll see who gets UNC.
  22. 100 percent I was just trying to really show that with 7 7A programs in 3 counties the difference.
  23. This just means the situation has to be laid out and preplanned well. No problem.
  24. Seems shop lifting some diapers and potentially running over an officer with a car resulted in shots fired and an adult wounded and a one year old killed.
  25. Tupelo is organized and has connections in the surrounding counties. The kids feel they will get more exposure playing at a 7A school instead of a smaller school.
  26. Which adds to a new question. Per some of the changes that had been made and were communicated, a student had to be enrolled and everything complete prior to starting the offseason for them to participate over the summer. Also, must be nice to have that many D1 recruits on one team. Not sure there are that many commits/recruits in all 3 coastal counties some years.
  27. Word is that Tupelo has all their football transfers registered and participating in summer activities.
