Head Shots points inside with slick and Bo for 11-1
slicklizard replied to slicklizard's topic in Football
is Leake good enough to ome out of the North ? There’s not a lot being said about them . It would probably leave me a little confused.because in no way do I think NWR beats Patal . Meridian beating Petal was no fluke . They roughed them up from the start and made the bolio defense Petal has the big weakness that it is. -
No need for 7 classes. 6 classes: 6A 24 5A 32 4A 32 3A 48 add 1 for OLA if needed 2A 48 add 1 for New Site if needed 1A Remaining schools plus 2 pending where OLA and New Site fall. 4 regions for football even if top 8 from each region make the playoffs for the money.
-
Then do they mix Crystal Springs, St Andrew's, McLaurin, and Pisgah into a region to give them a chance at the playoffs as a 3 or 4 seed for 2 years providing they don't blow it by finishing 1-1 against each other and it takes a coin flip to seed for the playoffs.
-
I wish they would go back to five and consolidate most of these schools
-
If the mhsaa will do that then that would probably be better.

Amory doesn't have a chance

Or we get another 6 team 4 team split maybe 2 of them. Region 3 & 4 will be 4 teams each. Region 5 & 6 are 6 teams each. Figuring out how to split JDC/Seminary/Raleigh/Magee/Mendenhall will be the task.

4A North & South 1st Round Predictions
winstonwildcats06 replied to wildcatnation662's topic in Football
Amory better bring their BEST PLAYED game of season Friday night to avoid a running clock in second half. Louisville is firing on ALL CYLINDERS now on offense and defense makes you want do something else Louisville 48 Amory 10 or maybe 14 being 2nd half GARBAGE POINTS -
You forgot to throw Picayune in there. Picayune was pretty forgettable in the Big 8 days LOL.
-
That how Amory beat them
-
You're 100% right about all of that and Jans gotta use his talent right and get them play up to their standard every game and motivation his team to play harder every game.
-
Corinth can't throw a lick. stop their run and Kosy takes it
-
To Macon they are. But not to Winona. And then you have everybody else to think of. Union dont want to have to drive to Macon or Ackerman or winona when they can drive much shorter routes to Lauderdale county and Raleigh. And seminary isn’t gonna want to have to make 3 drives to the eastern part of the state. No matter how you pair them, somebody is gonna get the short end of the stick. It’s better for one team to get the short end of the stick then multiple teams.

Yeah that was a weird game. State turned it over a lot early and had to play small ball because of how TN Tech was playing. Then State stopped turning it over and got hot from 3 and that was game. I like Bassong, he seems like he can maybe be a DJ Jeffries or Cam Matthews type defender that they’ve been missing for a couple of years. Johnson seems like a good addition too and King Grace had the game of his career. Hubbard is Hubbard. It feels like a stereotypical Jans team. They play a very specific style and are going to need Hubbard to win some games for them. But I do think the roster is better than what they had last year. With last year’s team, I could kinda tell right away that they didn’t have it AT ALL.
-
State defense gotta definitely improve, gave up 88 pts, that way to much to give up first game.
-
Union and Pisgah are much closer.
-
Opening night was tonight, State and OM both got wins, Hard to tell a ton against weaker competition, but with Jans and Beard, it would be surprising if both teams weren’t improved this year. How much improved? TBD.
-
I agree on the WJ o-line. We came out with a game plan to throw it downfield. But takes time for those routes to be ran and Lindsey had no time. We changed at half to shorter slant routes and quicker throws. Why couldn’t we do that in the 2nd QTR? it was obvious we couldn’t block them and we never tried to run the ball to slow the rush down.
-
Yes, it will suck. But somebody is going to have a sucky drive no matter how you shake it out. It would be the same amount of driving overall if seminary were in region 5. Their closest drive would be 45 minutes to Raleigh, the rest would be an hour and a half. If St. Andrews and Pisgah are both in region 4 that would at least give you an opponent only 30 minutes apart. I think this gives the best the best overall balance. No matter how you paired them, somebody is gonna get a bad draw.

Ridgeland to Macon drive

My thinking: Region 1 Alcorn Central Belmont Kossuth Nettleton Ripley Region 2 Holly Springs Independence North Panola North Tippah Rosa Fort Region 3 Amanda Elzy Coahoma County Humphreys County O'Bannon Yazoo County Region 4 Winona Choctaw County Noxubee County Pisgah Saint Andrews Region 5 Union Clarkdale Quitman Raleigh SE Lauderdale Region 6 Crystal Springs Magee Mclaurin Mendenhall Seminary Region 7 Franklin County Hazlehurst Jefferson County Port Gipson Tylertown Region 8 JDC PCS OLA St Patrick West Marion
