Merlin, I think you underestimated Laurel. They are no where nearly as bad as you were making them out to be. QB and WR are really good and the RB is ok. Their O-Line does need to be better as the HHS front four was punishing them pretty good. But the Laurel QB was able to avoid the rush multiple times and turn into Michael Vick. After last night I think Laurel could (not likely) beat Brookhaven.

Just a classic let down after a big win. Plus give Neshoba Central credit. Playing Meridian is their Super Bowl and they played very well. Lesson learned hopefully for Meridian.

Penalties have been a real problem these first two games. Twice the defense has gotten stops on 4th down only to have it wiped out because of facemask Penalties

Was a bit of an overreaction once they went down late in the game but to your point… I can acknowledge most teams would come out 0-2 after playing Starkville and Germantown back to back weeks (they are both championship level teams). Would like to see more consistency from such a veteran group would be my primary concern.

Be glad OG is far enough south to not be in region 2 then. I personally feel that 7A football as a whole has some meatgrinder type teams.

Kosciusko is a great team and are that much better than Neshoba.

Neshoba Central lost pretty big last week to 4A school also.

I try to be optimistic because I see the talent and what they could be but sooner rather than later we gotta see the oline stop with all the pre snap penalties. We found some running game which is a plus.

Congrats to Riverside. They lost 52-8 but they hadn’t scored since Oct 31 2024. That’s one monkey off their back. Ironically their scoreless streak started after shutting out O’Bannon 8-0 and ended last night against O’Bannon.

He's looking at it from the opposite standpoint because they really could be 0-2 just as easily 2-0.

Yep, we are taking our 7 and 6 year old grandsons. And they have a blast. This will be the fifth year in a row that we have taken them for at least one football game during the season. And we usually do the same for basketball as well.

Well Meridian listened to everyone pat them on the shoulder telling them how good they were and then promptly lost to Neshoba Central. I almost saw it coming. You win a game by a large margin that you were supposed be lose. But then you get the big head and lose to a team which was seemingly not even close to the team you beat.

Road blocks everywhere tonight. I believe i would have ran over the chief if weren't for kacki pants and a small flashlight. They picked a dark spot on 28 between Walmart entrance and 49 red-light. No yellow vest and black shirts.

Not as ugly as ours last week. I wish west would stop playing Laurel week 1. Play Northeast jones or someone else. Get some film on Laurel. What west should have gone to stop Laurel from scoring on the same play 5 times (no exaggeration) was put in 2nd safety and push corners up to the line instead of 10 yards off. West never adjusted to it. You guys did exactly that. I watched the game. 4 times Laurel tried to run it that I saw you guys snuffed it out. Dropped one would be pick 6 off it by a lb. We were dumb and let them beat us by not adjusting. We made that qb look like a great qb. He isn’t.

East Webster is definitely the favorite in 2A north. Maybe Kemper County.

East Webster is one of the best teams in 2A. I do agree giving up that many points to Vardaman is concerning, but I believe they are still the favorite in their district and should make a run in the playoffs. Only team I could see challenging them maybe is Ethel unless Noxapater or Sebastopol is better than they appear to be.

Nanih Waiya has given up close 100 points in 2 games! They are not a threat unless something miraculous happens defensively. They gave up 50 to Vardaman who was shut out by Bruce 42-0 tonight.
