  2. Several picked them to miss the playoffs as it was. The ones who picked them higher and ranked them where they did preseason was primarily due to history.
  3. Realistically, OS may go into district play 0-4 based on what I saw last week. If that happens , I don't think they can right the ship.
  4. Hattiesburg wins 49-21. Game never really in doubt.
  5. Laurel riding high after a huge win over West Jones. Hattiesburg looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss vs Petal. How does everyone see this playing out?
  6. Today
  7. That UNC-TCU game was a horrible watch. I don’t think either of those teams are going to be very good. But man what happened to TCU? You’d never know that they played for a national title not even 4 years ago based on that performance. The most impressive team of the day was Virginia. Totally dogwalked NC State. USM’s ex beat State’s ex out in Vegas. Fell asleep at halftime and missed a lot of it. But potentially a significant result for Playoff purposes.
  8. Was making a joke in reference to the thread title.
  9. Hate is a strong word @ccbulldog there is nothing wrong with a little good clean fun.
  10. Even though I like PCS here, Mize has a really good football team, wouldn’t be surprised if they won
  11. I'll learn if I need to be more or less restrained this week LOL.
  12. I think they will. If anyone was at the HHS/Petal game as a non fan of either team they will tell you that HHS was the way better team. You cant have 2 snaps over the punter head and give a team the ball inside the 10yd line. And on another possession Petal went for it on 4th down HHS gets a stop but was called for a facemask penalty and that also led to a touchdown. I will give Petal credit on the game winning td after the HHS fumble. That was Petal best drive of the entire game and the Petal offense was poised and did not panic.
  13. Raleigh not the same team as last year for sure. Dville will be solid 2nd spot behind Gpt as long as coaching doesn't mess it up in Dville
  14. There were several takeaways that I saw and heard from the OS side of things: Lack of leadership and accountability- small senior class and the juniors that were expected to step up folded rather quickly. (This is going to be a theme in most of the boys sports this year as they are all lacking in senior leadership) They were absolutely whipped at the line on both sides of the ball. The players that were essentially anointed by the staff as their key players need a serious gut check and lack some intestinal fortitude that will be needed. Several tapped out and gave up before the game was over. Unfortunately two of the main ones will never leave the field since they are administrators kids. It's been growing worse every year and the first game showed it that there's a sense of me over team. It especially showed when you celebrate a TD like you won the state championship while getting beat pretty handily and then throw a temper tantrum when said TD gets called back. This will be a long year for Greyhound Football.
  15. Can Petal win D-3? I think it is Oak Grove's division just based on what week 1 showed. That Stockville loss was not a bad loss. Starkville is really good on the line of scrimmage and I think people fail to realize that. They beat South Panola and Hewitt-Trussville in the spring game. I know I know its a spring game, but they're better than people realize until they beat WP handily this Friday.
  16. I hope you're right. I enjoyed the days when Shannon was really good! They used to always keep tons of players! They have to still be there.
  17. Nobody on the coast is gonna be challenging Gulfport this year. Meanwhile Dist. 3 7A is gonna be a dogfight. Brandon and Oak Grove both have slipped a little and Meridian is vastly better.
  18. Brandon- They have to be teetering off a cliff. Their class and region is not one favorable to a get better as the season goes along mentality.
  19. That's why it was interesting. Raleigh is title level in their class taking on a much deeper 7A team. I think both showed who they were. Speaking of interesting, that last sentence . WOW Looking at it through a different set of glasses we both agreed that nobody was right in that situation and to make it a positive. Grace is something you rarely get to feel .The giving or receiving. You can't summon it. It just shows up. Anyway there's the devotional for the day, lol. I always wanted to do something for the whole state and that's how it happened 100% total truth.
  20. I thought you two hated each other.
  21. That last season this a new season now it won't be no blow out you see and Shannon defense will travel to Louisville
  22. I will go out on that limb with you and say that Gulfport is legit and more than likely poised to repeat. 35-0 over Picayune is as impressive as it gets.
  23. Raleigh will be fine. D'Iberville is greatly improved on DL and OL. What Raleigh got was tough yards all night long. Raleigh had its chances to score 2 more times. D'Iberville toughened up and adjusted both drives in the red zone pushing Raleigh back. They will challenge Gulfport and may win 7A South.
