Big Facts about also us losing players to other schools.

We have always been relevant. I do not believe if HHS was going 4-6 or worse and missing the playoffs that players would come to HHS. They see an opportunity to go to the next level. I mean when kids see Hugh Freeze (when he was at Auburn) or Josh Heupel from Tennessee and other SEC or ACC coaches making personal visits to your school players and their parents see that and know that the best opportunity for their child may be to go play elsewhere. Everyone must face reality now, the days of hometown pride and little kids growing up and saying when I grow up I want to be the best player at ABC high school. Its now I wanna go play where I can play for a winning school and get noticed so I can play D1 college football and get NIL money.

Yes, kids do come and go. Parents get new jobs,..etc.etc... But, when a transfer happens to be a kid that had a standout year at a 1A-4A school, and was actively recruited by those connected to the program, or even by coaches. That's the Beef. That's crossing the line.

Gotten tough for to Hattiesburg stay relevant??? I mean what more do you want besides win state??? And how do you know these kids have nothing to do with Hattiesburg??? Because I personally know a few of them and where do you think their relatives graduated from and this isn't anything new. The whole Vance era was dominated by transfers and even before Vance transfers wasn't uncommon; just wasn't publicly talked about like now. The 2 best players in school history arent even homegrown (somewhat). Kids come and go. Since this is even a topic let's talk about the kids that transferred from hhs this past year.

Ok, but why has it gotten tough for Hattiesburg to stay relevant? Is there not enough talent within the Hattiesburg School District to win with who you have? People legitimately moving in is one thing, but to go out and actively recruit players that would have had nothing to do with Hattiesburg had they not been "recruited" is a totally different thing. These players have no ties to Hattiesburg otherwise.

Not completely true, there are several on the coast that report each other every year, and proof has to be sent in. Rare in football, it's more common in the other sports.

They also want the most qualified officials who officiate on a Thursday night to also officiate playoff games the next night for 1a-4a

I personally know officials who call football on the thursday and then do basketball on friday. It is a real official shortage. If a team is motivated and locked in they shouldn't care when they game is.

No one is ever going to "turn in someone" anymore. Lets be truly honest, especially at the 5a 6a 7a classes where a title contender has not had someone "move in" to help their team out this season

The week before their playoffs start 1A-4A almost all play their final game on Thursday night. It's a weird trend that started for some reason.

Gulfport didn't really hide theirs last year and it led straight to a title, and no one said a word.

The majority of schools in this state, especially those 4A and larger, try to get 1 or 2 a year. It’s a “secret” that everyone knows but does not want to talk about. Except for Hattiesburg and Tupelo, who are the most brazen with it.

6 Classes 6A-4A 4 Regions 6A-4A top 6 make the playoffs per region 3A-1A 8 Regions 3A-1A top 5 make the playoffs per region OR 5 Classes 6A-5A 4 Regions 4A-1A 8 Regions Top 6 make the playoffs in every class and region **If the legislature votes to close 25 to 35 schools discussed things are going to change**

Every game is not on Thursday. Playoffs are on that Friday for 1a-4a. 5a-7a every game is that Thursday night.

The season should be 11 weeks long with 10 games. Everyone needs a week off and it's good for the kids but at least give them a full schedule. Additionally, every school playing their last game on a Thursday night is stupid. Some teams have to play on Thursday nights due to a lack of officials but that's not an excuse when every single final game in the state is played on a Thursday. The small regions are part of the issue where we've gone down to 5, 4, or 3 teams in the lower classes is a big part of the problem. at the very least 1A should go back to 4 regions rather than 8. Of course, 6 classes or even 5 would be better than 7 but that's always been a sore spot for me.

I believe you 100% I just find it amazing how much you have posted about many teams because of all the group texts you have seen. Thats why all of us in this group need to start coming to you. We know you will have all the info. LOL

You must be in a lot of group texts. Ive seen you comment on coast schools Petal Oak Grove and Hattiesburg and Jones Co schools. Sounds like you the man that has all the inside information when something happens.

Even if it is an old Big 8 stadium, putting the emphasis on the facility isn’t as imperative. The emphasis needs to be on the personnel and how that has evolved or changed since the respective spring games.

Usually they have to return to their home school.
