But they were still a 4 seed and they couldn’t even tread water against Hattiesburg and got shut out by Goula. Having a good player isn’t going to make or break them because it’s a team effort. Everyone else is going to have to do their job for them to improve upon their success from last season. Having a good player definitely helps, but that can only take you so far. I genuinely believe they can make some noise and are getting better, but who they make noise against remains to be seen.

No clue what happened but if you’re losing championships at West Point.. that’s a pretty spoiled fan base so it wouldn’t surprise me. I think Starkville looks pretty solid on film. Really physical and a lot of athletes with one of the best QBs in the state. But OG is loaded. I could see Starkville giving them fits with their offense as previously mentioned but if OG is sound up front they’ll be fine.

PRC did go 7-3 in the regular season and also beat Picayune. PRC may have the 2nd best player (QB Feaster) in the region behind Xavier Dennis from Picayune.

PRC has been spread since Feaster took over or should I say functional spread. That’s probably a little more accurate. I’m not going to divulge into what was there previously. Now as far as them being region contenders, that very well could be a stretch. I do think they clinch a playoff spot, but I’m curious to see a few things in how Region 4-6A shapes up. First of all it’s a 6 team region with Goula, Picayune, Gautier, PRC, Hancock, and Long Beach. Let’s just take who made the playoffs last year out of this region and apply it to this year as an example. The only difference we could make is the fluidity of the seeding. If you change that up, then PRC improves their seeding by default because they wouldn’t be seeded 4th. The next question that arises is who can they beat this year that they didn’t last year in order to improve their seeding. This is where beating Goula and Hancock come into play. Last year PRC struggled against these two opponents. In order for them to improve their pecking order they need to hold serve against Gautier and Long Beach. Then they need to knock off one of these teams. If they are able to beat both Hancock and Goula, then they lock up a 2 seed at minimum. They could lock up a 3 seed if they beat either Hancock or Goula. I’m just genuinely curious to see how Goula does with their new coach and staff because depending on how they do could very much affect the seeding in Region 4-6A more so.

Who was runoff from West Point I don’t care what they say iin Starkville to polish him up. If he was still in West Point, his seat would have been so hot by now he would have to have had skin graft surgery on his seared. arse cheeks before Friday could get here. Nah mainly because Starkville will run the ball much more than last year and the clock will roll pretty fast. OG had a bunch of guys starting 7A ball for the first time ever in their matchup last year especially on defense

Since no one really wants to give some reasons why we shouldn’t just go ahead and print some shirts now proclaiming Brookhaven the souths representative again I figured I would kind of shift gears to this Friday. Still when I think of Pearl River Central, I think of a wing offense. Grind the clock score while limiting their opponents opportunities. As someone has already informed me they run a spread now. Wayne County does again. Everyone that I have talked to is happy that the wing is locked up in that broke down shed full of the other pilfered stuff behind the house Hathornes father-in-law built for his daughter. My question is how long has it been since PRC went to the spread? Also, how do they like it compared to before? I don’t see anyone commenting on here about them anymore, except Vott who said they expected to compete for the region title. Are they expected to have that kind of team this season?

Does this have the possibility of being a 55-52 type game again like last season?

They got West points coach so it’s basically their offense with a splash of spread. I don’t agree they’ll beat OG handily (I think people forget OG is really good) but they will have to play very disciplined football

What is Starkville running offensively? Are they not a spread team like most nowadays?

I remember when we beat Starkville and Oxford. Good times LOL.

Because they really only see their offense in practice. Starkville will get better on defense as the season rolls on. I am betting they win big because OG has never seen anything like they are fixing to see and you cant simulate it in practice in one week. If starkville can get 3 stops friday they win. If they get 4 stops they win big. It is hard for offenses like OG to get in any sort of rhythm when they will be standing on the sideline 15 minutes at a time.

I agree fully. I do believe PRC will show up and play hard, but like you said there's a lot of excitement and rejuvenation in Waynesboro. If the game is tight and close, I don't see that favoring PRC. In order for PRC to go to Waynesboro and win this one, they'll need to go up by a couple of scores very quickly and maintain that lead. This game won't be easy for PRC.

I'll probably be 70% on these. I just think Wayne will be rejuvenated with new HC. Still working regular job as prognosticator hasn't paid off yet.

Only going to predict Coast teams as I don't know about the north part of the state: Bay wins its only game of the year Greene,Pass,FCAHS,Stone,Wayne Co, Goula,St Martin- should win easily OS- by 10 Biloxi- Holmes Co lost a lot to graduation D'Iberville- in a close one Poplarville- by 21 Gulfport- in a close one

I wouldn't worry too much about WJ on offense and being vanilla because that will change. Giving up 21 in a 2 quarters to a Seminary on the other hand is something to worry about. Nothing against them. They are a great team and Evans is a good coach but they aren't what they will see in 6a

Stringer has 13 seniors, with several of them being 3-4 year starters. Stringer graduated 2 really good players who are going to be hard to replace, but based on what I saw on Friday night, I think they will be just fine. Stringer may or may not be slightly overhyped due to 1A not being very strong this year, but I still think you’re underestimating them. I do believe that Enterprise can win this game, but I feel like the 17 point margin you predicted is a stretch. Should a good game overall in my opinion that’s decided by under 10 points in either team’s favor.

Enterprise is a senior team with a lot of experience Stringer's best player graduated I feel Stringer is being overhyped I know you cant judge everything from a jamboree but Enterprise played even with a team with a lot more speed and better athletes than Stringer. We are a big physical team and Stringer is going to have a lot of trouble running against us.
