In North MS I'm just wondering where @wpgreenwave51 and his goons went to after running me through the mud about defending their old staff that they "ran out of town" and "put them on the hotseat". Looks to me like they may have been a little more "qualified" than expected. It's going to be a sad day in paradise this Friday when they get hot clocked by Tupelo after having 2 weeks to prepare. I'm betting they will show back up after they closely beat Pontotoc and then the bacon fries in hot grease when Lafayette finally beats them in their double wing offense that has scored 200+ points in 4 games. Gulfport/Petal may come out of the South but it wont matter because Tupelo and their recruiting coordinator need a raise. Tupelo by fifty on whoever comes out of the South. After Friday night and seeing them play I am positive that their QB could call plays and their MLB could call defense and they would win by 3-4 TDS. That staff needs to get on the bus, keep the kids out of trouble, limit injuries in practice and enjoy the ride. All they can possibly do is lose the game. The have STUDS EVERYWHERE. Warren Central is in the same boat as Tupelo in terms of being the definite front runner and I have more confidence in their staff to keep the train on the tracks. In 4A its Kosy and Louisville and then EVERYONE else. Is it October 9th yet because that is the only game in 4A north that makes a difference.

The October numbers are the official numbers used for reclassification. I think the preliminary September numbers allows them to begin working on the classifications knowing that there will be some changes at the top and bottom of each class when the official MDE numbers come in October.

Things change of course but I truly don't see the state intervening in local school closures. Districts yes, and many are needed but not schools within the districts. Covington County only has one district already and while Mt. Olive and Collins consolidation may be needed, the board hasn't decided to pull the trigger for whatever reason. Next year is an election year and I don't actually look for any monumental legislation period.

not sure of current classification but the 10 private schools are french camp, TCPS, St Andrews, Piney Woods, Sacred Heart, Presbyterian Christian, St Patrick, resurrection, our lady academy and St Stan. each would have their totals multiplied by 1.5.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the state step in and force the consolidation of Mount Olive and Collins. If not this year then possibly in the next re-class. It’s badly needed.

True. Who else are the 1A private schools other than Tupelo Christian and resurrection.

I think the 1A split could be higher due to losing Falkner, Leake, LeFlore, Thrasher, etc. as Football Playing Schools. Plus the multiplier will push some of the private/parochial schools from 1A to 2A.

Ole Miss @ Florida. I agree that with Chambliss Ole Miss will find a way to win this game. People forget that Florida is coming off an emotional win as well. It may be a bit ugly but Ole Miss wins 34-21. Mizzou @ State. Missouri is a good team but State has seemingly closed the talent gap. I look for State to play well and get the victory 35-24. Texas @ Tennessee should be a good game. Texas seems to get all the luck and Tennessee seems to find a way to shoot themselves in the foot. Texas 20-17. Okie @ Jawja. Usually when people write off Oklahoma they surprise everyone. Look for them to make this an ugly low scoring game. Georgia wins but it will not be pretty. 24-14. A&M @ LSU. LSU lets Ole Miss beat them twice. A&M comes off the mat from an eight count and beats LSU 27-20. SCAR gets boat raced by Bama in the first half but scores some late to make the score more respectable. Bama 42-28. Vandy @ Auburn. Vandy’s luck runs out but Aubie is not that good so look for an ugly game. Auburn 20-17. Tulsa @ Arkansas. Arkansas finds a to get a win as Tulsa self implodes. Arky 23, Tulsa 21. USM @ Tulane. A once competitive rivalry is renewed. Unfortunately for USM, they are on the wrong side of the talent on the field. Tulane 38, USM 17.

Busting up that region that had West and WC in it then going to seven classes pretty much set this rivalry into a death march. We don't really have one anymore

I wouldn't doubt if there wasn't tie breakers involved. They all have different flaws so it's impossible to predict

Everyone is exited to an extent their team is winning. If losing less excitement and less gate. Taylorsville brought appx 60 fans to Raleigh. Normally the sideline behind the fence is full G to G 4 or 5 deep and end zones 3 man deep.

The numbers they both turned in last October throws them back into top of 4A. I have Sumrall at 466 #3 4A and Purvis at 451 #5 4A last fall. So I will say they are borderline 5A/4A.
