  1. Past hour
  2. Home School is exploding and in some areas private schools are seeing increases. Public school enrollment continues to decline which is sad in many ways. Unfortunately the environment in a number of schools is causing families to pull their children out and teachers to leave for either retirement or to teach in a private school setting. The money is less but the corresponding stress level is way lower.
  3. IMO, Leavitt is a liability for LSU. In two games against State he did not impress me at all. Two years ago all he did was hand the ball off to Skattebo. Last year his passing was atrocious. And in the second half they ran the ball down our throats. And quite frankly we were fortunate to win that game at the end. Ole Miss has a huge advantage at QB and an advantage at RB but every where else it appears LSU is stronger. I will do my picks later.
  4. Today
  5. I am 99% sure this is just shenanigans by Kiffin.
  6. Leavitt got his "feelings hurt" when he threw 3 picks in the first half vs LA TECH. So thats what is bothering Leavitt. LOL If I was a college coach, I would create a fake injury report all the time just to keep the opposing team guessing.
  7. See where LSU listed Leavitt as "doubtful" on the injury report. Is this Kiffin being Kiffin, or is there something to it I wonder.
  8. OS had about 40 go to homeschool. Lost close to 200 total from last year district wide. Looks like they would have been at 455 off last years numbers. That alone goes to show how much movement there is likely to be.
  9. I heard from a friend that Newton County turned in 328 I believe, not sure where they were last time, but that number seems really low for them.
  10. Not sure what the statistics are but home school students have exploded in MS. Enrollment numbers down across the state.
  11. If you told me both LSU and Ole Miss lose next week after all the hubbub about their game, wouldn’t shock me in the least. You mentioned OM’s trip to Gainesville being dangerous, LSU literally plays another Top 10 team immediately after they play OM.
  12. I will say remember on some of the borderline schools that there will be movement with the private schools taking up spots. i.e. St Pats likely ending up in 5A and opening slots and shifting numbers down.
  13. No word on Shannon, but Mooreville will be boarderline 3a. Really good chance they fall
  14. I know in OS there are 170 students that moved either out of state, private school, or to another district in the state. They track all of it.
  15. If some are reporting low numbers then some schools have to be reporting higher numbers unless folks are moving out of state.
  16. Week 4 Preview from the Varsity Voices Podcast ON THIS EPISODE Tupelo vs Oxford in a Top 10 North MS showdown Petal and Gulfport to battle it out in south MS An old school showdown between Clarksdale and South Panola The upstarts: Lanier and Leake face off Lousiville and Starkville in a Golden Triangle Showdown Leflore and Northside in Small School Matchup And Brandon Davis with a CONTROVERSIAL take on the Best Southern Rock Bands of All Time.
  17. Not to change the subject but regardless of what happens in Oxford Saturday, the Florida game is shaping to to be a huge trap for the Ole Miss team the following week.
  18. there are many schools all over the state reporting much lower numbers. Why is this?
  19. Found it. Looks like Murrah will drop a long way. Last team in 6A or the top of 5A depending on how many more they lost.
  20. I'll take USM, State, LSU(but i really don't want to), Bama (I pray),Florida, A&M by a bunch, Georgia by even more
  21. 183 from East Union. solid 2A
  22. Kosciusko put Louisville out last year. They played 2 very close football games. I expect the same thing this year. Kosciusko is a very good football team. If anyone is going to beat Louisville it’s Kosciusko and that is it. Louisville travels to Kosciusko on 10/09 and the rematch will be North Half barring a major upset of one of them. They are heads above the rest of 4A although Kosciusko has to improve in defense. Giving up 50+ to Hernando doesn’t look good but scoring 60 does. I am very interested in Leake. Leake High is a consolidation of Leake Central who went I think 9-3 last year and got put out by McComb in a 1 point game and Leake County who went 7-6 and lost in the 3rd round to Taylorsville. Both of those teams were young last year also. Leake high is a team that combined went 16-9 last season and are playing together. I know little to nothing about Germantown other than they score a lot of pointa and give up more.
  23. How is anyone going to keep Louisville from going to the title game ? Who put them out last season ? How good is this new school , Leake High ? Is Germantown better than last season ?
  24. I’ll have to go back and look. I couldn’t find that link. Based on last years 7th-10th numbers it looks like Greenville may be the last 7A school. That was the only change I saw there with Meridian and Murrah going down.
  25. Shannon appx 400 Mooreville appx 350
