Might not be 1A after the 1.5 multiplier
-
If St Stanislaus and OLA go to 4A then travel will be very local until playoffs. I don't see travel other than to Tylertown in 3A bring further.
-
I would agree. On paper, 7 teams are chasing probably 4 slots. At least IMHO. The problem for those 7 teams is that there are a lot of capable teams 8-16 that can wreck their season with an extra loss. It is hard to see any one team finishing with more than 10 wins. 11-1 is going to be very difficult if not impossible. Plus the fact that those 7 teams will beat up on each other in the games they play within themselves.

Last year it was 5 and I don’t think it’ll be 5 again. Not with everybody playing an extra conference game this year.
-
I could see some of the south Mississippi teams moving to this. Heck depending on how many schools they have it could be less travel even to Florida
-
They are pretty dang good in baseball. They are 1a
-
I would think not. Why would it? I mean Louisiana and Arkansas schools are already playing in the MAIS so thats pretty much the same thing that Florida and Alabama are doing sounds like
-
Gotcha. First time I heard of it.
-
Alabama and Florida panhandle schools are launching a new organization the Gulf States Independent Athletic Association. You guys think this will impact Mississippi independent schools or the MAIS?

Tupelo Christian Prep School

Question. Who/what is TCPS?
-
The irony of that is crazy.
-
Lamar chose that for themselves
-
and they haven't been near the same since.

Petal will be one of the best coached teams in the state. Where will this game be played.
-
TCPS didn’t get into trouble until 21 or 22. But they had to fire coaches and AD. Plus miss playoffs the next year.
-
how many SEC teams make the 12 team field? now name them- UGA, Texas, A&m, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, BAMA? are these the only ones to consider?
-
If there’s one game on the schedule that could get people on board with Lebby, it’s that one. Even moreso than an Egg Bowl win, in my opinion.

Open October 9 in MAIS are MRA, St Aloysius, Oak Hill, and Centreville. Then I noticed MAIS season starts August 14 and some schools like Lamar have 2 open dates. That’s lost money.
-
Let me back up, its Poplarville with an open date and not Columbia. PCS found an opponent and St Patrick is filled. Raleigh, Forest, St Patrick, Columbia, and Hazlehurst, and one other south school open that week in MHSAA. Several in MAIS i think are open in the south. I think part of the problem is coaches not all but some are scheduling with coaches they went to college with. Others are looking for wins. Also the 5 team regions are part of the problem.
