I think we run back the same handful of topics during the offseason.. especially this one. We’ve seen teams lose a jamboree and win a state title several times. Also… I get a real kick out of fans being quick to point out how their team “pulled starters” whether they lost or the game was close against a lower opponent. Me personally as long as OG doesn’t look like crap for two series I’m content going into Week 1.

How seriously do you take a jamboree compared to a spring game? If your team gets blasted next month will you be concerned, or if your team dominates will you feel good? Of course a lot will depend on who you play in the jamboree.

I know about the Wayne County turf and I can't disagree with your sentiment on it. I was referring to the new West Jones turf. I'm hoping it doesn't look as mustardy as the initial renderings.

It looks horrible, A little more black paint and it's a dam bristled up buzzard bowing up over a dead possum. Hathorne should be forced to put the image of it on the hood of every vehicle he has. When it comes off of our field he can have a car without it

It needed it .The old ones just wanted to make sure all the facilities were locked up and rush home to buttermilk with corn bread . As the season got closer Marcus and them boys would be up there late . Since Pound got hired there has been a lot raised by the revived booster club. It will probably be a charged atmosphere, Pound coming into his fourth game as a HC against a legend like Pearson will be damn near impossible to pull off. I hope it's entertaining at least. Weird stuff usually happens and there will be a couple of times where both sides get pissed off

MLB Draft is today and tomorrow, will be curious to see what.decisions are made in certain cases. Most of State’s questions revolve around HS signees. The only two possible returnees that have some questions around them are Milewski (I think he’s leaving) and Teel (I’m 50/50 on him being back). OM started the day with good news already. Hunter Elliott announced he’s returning to college for his 15th year of eligibility. I’m pretty sure he was on campus at Ole Miss when I was in diapers.

Considering they open with Wooddale Saltillo Port Gibson Lewisburg Hernando Pure Academy and then have Columbus and Caledonia in division They will find a way to finish 6-5 and call it a great season and Mr Foster will continue to stroke his own ego.

Mr. Foster is quoted as saying that he would resign if the football tam continues to mire in the mud. Wait and see how this all plays out

No…. Lafayette will finish 4th in their division again and fight to finish 4th. Pontotoc is returning 16-17 starters and New Hope is much more athletic and better coached than Lafayette Co. and Lafayette has never beaten West Point in recent past. Lafayette County CHOSE to end the crosstown classic because of their incompetence and inability to field a competitive team and picked up Port Gibson instead. They stated that the rivalry with Oxford no longer fit the “goals” of program. actual quote from superintendent: “After fulfilling future scheduling commitments, we will consider scheduling options more consistent with our classification and goals,"
