Okay, then a grievance puts everything on the record, and at least gives a basis to address this kind of issue in the future. I can’t imagine a head of officials continuing to assign local coaches to games involving their own schools after knowing they are being scrutinized. Does that happen often, or am I the only one who’s surprised that it happens at all?

I think at the very least the guy should have took himself off the field and went to the clock or something. I know of an official if he gets one of our games that is what he does.

I do know if 5A played on Thursday so there would be enough good officials to cover playoffs and the other important games leading to playoffs then we are in trouble. Officiating as a whole has been trending downward for a few years. A lot of the old veterans have retired and it shows. There is one crew on the coast that is really good without saying to much but its 2 bothers and they let the kids play. What is really disturbing is that the officials on the sideline by the team gets really influenced or intimidated by the coachs. Pass interference has become a complete joke.

I think one thing that doesn't make the officials situation any better is the fact they require so many for each game now.  They once only sent 5 man crews to most games and saved their larger crews for "big" games.  Now it seams like every game at least 6 on the field plus two in the press box for the scoreboard and play clock.

I feel the same way . If something nefarious wasn’t in the works then why was it being kept a secret.
We are in the same region for the last time it looks like for the foreseeable  future so non region is the only way they play. That’s looking like that avenue is gone now because of this.

I hope East Central beats the dog out of West Jones!  Doesn’t speak well of Pierson and his coaching staff to pull a stunt like this.  Very unethical on their part.

Again, it begs the question of how many times this has been done in the past. The fact that they were so brazen about it probably means that it’s been standard practice. Now, I’m the guy who almost completely supports referees in this day of less numbers of qualified officials, but it’s easy to not assign any school employees to games involving their school. If it’s happened to you, then it’s happened to everybody at some point. Playoff games should especially be scrutinized to prevent this.

All across the south fans have always had their opinion on officials outside of their association. Hattiesburg area football fans thought they would get screwed over by Laurel and coast officials. Coast fans thought the same about Laurel and Hattiesburg and finally Laurel thought the same about the coast  and Hattiesburg Well this here is proof positive that their is some shadiness in the Laurel association, even though WC is part of that association also. Heads need to roll after this.

i agree. they can say what they want about it, but i won't be convinced it was not done for an advantage.

I will even take it a step further and say restrict from officiating and event that any of your direct next of kin may participate in.

If what I’m hearing rumblings of is true it is one of the dirtiest, crooked, most underhanded moves in high school football I’ve ever heard of.

I mean we joke about things like that all the time on here but to see it played out in real life, I have lost a lot of respect for Scott Pierson.

Damn this is crazy especially in a game for playoff seeding. I hate it for Wayne County I would be pissed.

I’m assuming we are under the Ellisville district of officials.

They need to put out some kind of statement out on this situation. Their silence is a damned indictment right now.

I was told today that they were an official short Thursday before the game.Pierson sent after his basketball coach in the stands who appeared minutes later with his ref suit on. WWE style.

Pierson talks to ref crew and one of them heads up to press box to run the clock and the basketball coach posts up on the west Jones sideline. The rest is history. The guy was not even officially assigned to ref the game. They almost pulled it off too if not for our basketball coach seeing it.  He called both of our TDs back and put a target on himself. Coach Hankins didn’t catch wind of it until after the game . He is understandably beside himself with anger and frustration.

It’s time to pull the curtain back on that whole den of snakes in that office and let’s get this all out in the open.  I want to know how long this has been going on or all these low level crooks are going to be made famous. They are being walked down now.

It’s time to turn attention to the task at hand Friday night. Can’t keep harping on what went on last week, there will be time to take out that trash at another time. I would just end it by saying this. Everyone be mindful who is calling your games this week

Our boys have a business trip Friday night. I’m hoping we can do something we haven’t been able to do all season. Play offense on the road. Maybe we will rise to the occasion, I know it’s in them

Now, where is the best place to park at Gauter for a short walk ? Do they sell tickets or  is it all gofan ? Is the ticket booth on the visitors side or is it at the “gym”  like in Hattiesburg that they send you towards. I still ain’t found that dam place, fat security at the visitors gate pointed me towards the hood behind the visitors side.  I’m sure he got a good laugh thinking he got me.

What he don’t know is the person back up the street moved the barricade and let me park right there only steps away. I gave them a diet Mountain Dew and they let me in the gate onto the track . No pay. Keep laughing fat man.
For Vancleave people they only sell tickets at the gym and it’s a half mile away.  You won’t find out till you get to the gate either.

Someone else can do West Jones, I don’t want to think about.

Parking is usually pretty convenient. Even for the Pascagoula game I got a decent spot. Not too far of a walk at all. There is one ticket booth so you won’t have to worry about being sent on a wild goose chase for tickets. Go fan is accepted and tickets are sold at the gate. Safe travels

there is plenty of parking, slick. home side is closest to parking lot. facing stands from parking the ticket booth is just to the right of home stand. i usually park in lot to the right of the ticket booth. you can exit that way by thr baseball field and avoid a lot of traffic after the game. its a nice facilty.

Thanks Tib.  Quality info right there.  It’s one of the few I’ve never been to. East Central is another.

Wayne County people coming down through Lucedale stop in Wade at that gas station by the Waffle House Traffic light there. They have the best catfish fillets in South MS.

I prefer the tenders with logs and house sauce. I don’t know how the schedule will look next year but if you have to come to east central, turn left at the red light where that chevron is, and keep going straight and it’ll lead you right to East Central and if you kept going that way it would take you right into Mobile.

Hey Slick I think u talking about Catfish Point that has the best catfish fillets. If thats  the place they our the bomb. Yeah like Tib said Gautier has really good parking and it’s not that far from the interstate.  Good Luck to Y'all tomorrow night.

He’s talking about the chevron. Catfish Point closed 2016 which sucks cause it was sooooo good. It was one of the last places I took my granny to eat before she passed away. I like to think they stayed open long enough for me and granny to have one final meal together
