That would be interesting! Gulfport and Pearl played close  earlier this year, and I believe that Harrison Central went against OG in last year’s playoffs. Meridian has been down a few years, but we’ll learn a lot when they play OG this week. d’Iberville can’t be as bad as they looked last week, so them and Brandon might be a good matchup. We all know that region four hasn’t had much success. Maybe this year, with a couple of good chances.

I will be shocked if Region 3 sweeps Region 4 this season. Would not be shocked if they won 3 of 4. Ocean Springs is the real deal. I saw them and OG vs Hattiesburg and I still think Ocean Springs is the team to beat in the South. I do believe that the Region 3 winner (more than likely OG) has homefield advantage through out the playoffs this season

Can’t wait for Ocean Springs game!

Don’t blame you. O.S. has to prove themselves for sure, but this QB and the offense are legit. Maybe the defense could use some size, but last week against d’Iberville they slanted at the line and flew to the ball. Now, I know that OG will put it up, so that’s a different story. And their big game experience will always help. Still, I’ve seen O.S. against pretty good competition, and I’m riding with them until I see otherwise.

Not sure 3 teams out of Region 4 could win 3 games against OG, Brandon, Pearl and Warren Central. I just don’t see it…

I certainly agree. Before last weekend, I thought that d’Iberville was right there with Ocean Springs with a shot at winning in the playoffs. Now, I’m just not sure if they’re that bad, or if O.S. is just that much better. That leaves Harrison Central, who hasn’t played anybody and struggled with their last two wins against mediocre teams. Gulfport beat Pearl early on, so they could make some noise. I know this hype happens every year, but from what I’ve seen from Ocean Springs, they’re the ones who I’d expect to make a run at Oak Grove.

OS is certainly head and shoulders above everyone in the region. Unless Hubbard goes down, I don't see them losing until possibly the playoffs. I don't think Gulfport or Harrison Central are good enough right now. Goula either. I think OS beating D'Iberville like they did was sort of an "outlier" if you will, but I don't think they could keep it closer than 14 or so anyway. I think D'Iberville is a solid ball club, but I think OS is just that much better than the rest right now.

For those who may have an interest and would want to check out Ocean Springs, they are playing Biloxi tonight

Biloxi might be a better team than their record indicates. They beat a good East Central, and led undefeated Harrison Central at the half. Plus, this is a rivalry game , especially in my house, and the Indians would like nothing better than to ruin the O.S. perfect record. The Greyhounds had better keep their foot on the pedal, or on their throat, or whatever cliche you like. Most of the state watching on a Thursday night.

Biloxi and Terry would be a good matchup.

OGwarrior I was thinking Meridian would be the 4th seed, but I watched Brandon vs Petal.  Meridian has a chance to go to Brandon and win tomorrow.  I think this  game is for the 3 seed.

Even if Meridian is a 4 seed they’re gonna be a scary 1st round matchup for Ocean Springs

History of playoff games between those two makes it highly unlikely that Ocean Springs can beat them. No Coast team has a chance against region 3. Probably be a sweep of all four games. We see it every year, so no reason to expect O.S. to make a game of it. Why not just move on to the second round.

There, did that just about cover it?

Different Ocean Springs team this season. If they were in Region 3 I'm not sure they wouldn't win that region also. This may be the year region 4 makes some noise in postseason

😂 I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings David. I never said they’d beat Ocean Springs. I said they’d be a scary first round opponent.

Not at all! I thought that I had already responded, but I understand completely the skepticism about region 4. I’ve suffered through some pretty ugly playoff games in Meridian and Oak Grove. But, I think this Greyhound team is better than any that we’ve sent into the postseason, especially on offense. You’ve always given us the respect, but it’s easy to go by the past. We’ve got games to play before the seeding is set. This should be fun.
