This year will be interested and probably full of surprises with unexpected teams. It seems that the heavy favorites are the south teams who dropped from 2A to 1A with Taylorsville and Bay Springs. I am sure teams like Lumberton, Stringer and Nanih Waiya will have something to say. At least they are more than likely up to the challenge. I dont think that there is a clear cut favorite in the north but I have a feeling a Delta team will emerge as THAT team to beat as the season get near the end. As of now though, Biggersville should probably be that north team until somebody knocks them off. It is just excited to just to see the kids back on the gridiron.

There are also a lot of traditional rivalries that will now be even more meaningful as they are now district games. I can only imagine if one of these district games end up being somebody’s homecoming.

The only thing I can say as far as Shaw, who is now known as McEvans Warriors, will be glad to challenge teams after being the odd man out of a 3 way tie breaker for 3rd, 4th and the 5th place team 2 years ago and opting out last year due to COVID as most Delta teams did. McEvans played a lot of freshmen and sophomore mixed in with seniors as Shaw when they last hit the field 2 years ago who should've had time to grow. Only time will tell.

I hate Nanih Waits move up because I really want to see them again Bay Springs and Taylorsville.

Well when comes to South teams they have to play a lot of 3A or 4A teams. It's basically like that in 2A to ... I think Taylorsville is probably playing the toughest schedule out of Bay Springs and Lumberton in non division. I think but then again it mite be Lumberton.

Which teams have really good tough non-divisional games to kick the season off?

I know why two of last year's starters are leaving and it has nothing to do with dissatisfaction. The head coaches son is going with him to Seminary. The starting center is going to live with his father. Two good players and it is unfortunate for the new coach to be losing them.

Also a lineman is not playing because he is committed to LSU to play baseball. I could tell you why so many teachers are leaving but I better not. My wife still has a job there
