tupelo hasn't beaten anyone yet to deserve a lofty ranking. The proof will be in the pudding later in the season. they had a easy saltillo game last week and now have corinth, columbus which are easy. Then Grenada, who is very good and then Oxford and starkville, madison central. If they have 3 losses at that point then they have squandered a season again.

With all the injuries for Madison Central, I don't think we are a top 2 team at the moment. The defense is just decimated. Several offensive players having to step up and play both ways. The next several weeks we are going to be short staffed on defense.

Interesting.  I wonder if that will make the Madison Central - Germantown matchup more intriguing?  I know that game won't be until October 21st so a lot of things can happen between now and then, but I can't help but wonder.

I believe about 5 or 6 of those injured players should be back by then. 1 might be done for the season but I can't say with any certainty at this point. But hopefully the others can stay healthy in the meantime.

So what do Madison Central fans in general think about Russell Mitchell at Germantown?  Is he getting support from the folks in Gluckstadt?  I have a feeling this will probably wind up being the premier rivalry game in Madison County.

I can't speak for anyone but myself but I really haven't even thought of him at all. Not that we'll overlook them, but with Brandon last week, first home game this week, and Starkville next week, I didn't even look at their scores until you mentioned it. Not to diminish their wins, but Vicksburg and Canton don't really give a good measurement of how good they will be in region play. They have too many resources and too much community support to not have a successful program as the years go by. He'll probably do well. I honestly just haven't paid enough attention to him to make any kind of judgment one way or the other.

Well your stance is completely understood.  I kind of figured that y'all would be indifferent on the matter since y'all have your hands full yourselves.  I just felt like the question needed to be asked.  All I know based off of Google Maps, that is one heck of a goldmine up there in Gluckstadt.  The old saying is, "Good things come to those who wait."  If that's the case then I think he waited for the right opportunity with the right resources and I think he will be successful there.  I really like the way they have everything laid out up there at Germantown.  That was a well thought out and designed school based off of what I can see.

they have hot wings and beer in the concession stand? if not, start over on that design.

I think there might be some laws somewhere that prohibit the sale of alcohol at high school extracurricular events LOL!  But yeah I think Russell Mitchell has the equivalent of the Taj Mahal up there.  They certainly don’t have my Nicholson pockets up there in Madison County.
