Vott
If your team is fortunate enough to have a JV team and when they play games do you put in stock into what the future will be for them in the next couple years? Example: Picayune is loaded this season. If their JV team went 0-6 and got blasted every game and could not run the ball, would that concern you going into next season. On the flip side your varsity is bad this season but your JV whips every team they play soundly and goes undefeated. Are you then fired up about the next couple of seasons? coastfootballfanman
To me, JV outcomes don't matter. As long as those kids are getting to play, they are going to improve. I have seen programs not be good at JV or even freshmen football and go on to be really, really good by the time they were seniors.
TK_on_the_Coast
It's about players getting reps in JV for me, winning helps, sure, but it's about development.
Tiburon
as long as they are learning and getting prepared the right way for what is coming in varsity I am ok with losing jv games. and i have watched coaches do the same thing over and over and over when it was not working in the game - in order to teach it. They need the kids to be able to do it right against another team in a game.they see the bigger picture.consistently doing things the right way leads to success. Chunky6617
What’s the rule on JV and junior high? I was told that a junior high player could not play both junior high football and also JV with the high school. Yet I know teams that are doing it
choctawman
If a Jr High player is moved up to high school, they cannot go back down. High school players can play 6 quarters per week.

Because I know plenty of junior high teams that are actually doing both.
