ROAD TRIPS

Are there any regions whether its 6a or 1a that your team is going to have to travel more than 200 miles to play this season to play a region game. I know some teams will travel that far just because they needed a game in non region. Just curious because I was in Waynesboro the other day and came across the sign on Hwy 84 that said Natchez 177 miles. And immediately region 3 5a came to mind.

Vott I heard it pt like this once. We are 12 miles from the Al state line and Natchez is on the La line. So we open the gate to Ms and close the gate to Ms lol. It’s a helluva drive.

It definitely is. But you know what if you have a good team it's worth the drive to watch them play. Hburg has them at home this season so I won't make the trip until 2022

I’ve made every trip WC has made. You know Natchez always has some of the best looking athletes. I keeping saying one day they’re going to put it together.

Back when Natchez was 6A, it was a 197 mile trip from Meridian. A long trip indeed. But Natchez like Corinth is just one those cities that is a long way from anywhere. Way back in the day, Corinth was a member of the Big 8 and that was a long trip for anyone beyond Tupelo or Columbus (and even CBus is a ways from Corinth).

Plus much of the highways then were two lane. Nowadays, four lane highways make these trips much more manageable and obviously safer as well.
Overall I don’t think it is a big issue today.
Starting games at 7P makes it tougher for visiting fans to get the stadium in time for kickoff as compared to the 730 kickoff times but that is about the only obstacle for fans these days.
