Madison SJ is likely to be fourth in 2-5A, behind Leake, Simpson, and Lamar, and a very unlikely fourth in the state.

No Heritage in the top 5 in 5A? St Joe you think'll be better?

I don't know, man... kind of stretches the imagination.

I think they’ll be a lot better coached this year. Will be better than Lamar. And Heritage has lost EVERYTHING now with Howard leaving. Unless they go recruiting too. They will struggle mightily.

ETA: On their roster, they have 20 returners and that includes 9th graders on it. They don’t put stats on MaxPreps, but I’d be willing to bet 95% of their offensive production has graduated or transferred. This year will prove how good a coach Harrison actually is.

I think PCS deserves to be in the top 5. Anytime you have Matt Caldwell leading your group, you're going to be pretty salty.

Parklane was young, returns most of their starters. Coach Rushing has them headed in the right direction. PCS is going to struggle no matter who is leading the group.

I am curious to see how well Jacob Land coaches at Lamar. Also talking PCS, I think they will be in a similar situation that they were when Derek White took over where they had a pretty big dip in talent after Joey Hawkins retired. I think they only won 2 games, one of which was an ACCS forfeit that year.  PCS in the short run, will definitely have to rebuild a bit, but in the long run, they likely will be a contender.

The title of this post should be ...

"Early 2022 Bump and Giggle League Rankings"

MAIS schools have won far more games than MHSAA schools in every sport in interleague play, not just football. And no, they don't cherry-pick opponents any more than MHSAA schools do.

With the exception of the GCS Delta All Star team, not a shot any of them could compete in Mississippi 3A-6A.

Well since the vast majority of MAIS schools would fall in to MHSAA's 1A & 2A that kinda goes without saying. MRA, Prep, and JA which would likely be 3A or maybe 4A in MHSAA have competed quite well and won more than they've lost versus public schools in Mississippi.

The real bump and giggle teams are in Jackson Public Schools. Consistently pathetic.

But, they also can put those JPS kids on scholarship. Get to pick and choose who they want. I also really don't understand how people can pay all that money to send their kids to schools that are founded on racism. But, that's just me.

Private schools are just businesses that educate children. If it helps their business to offer discounts or scholarships, it's just about making money. There's far more speculation of that kind of thing taking place then there really is, though. If you were a good athlete in JPS who had to play for Jim Hill or had an opportunity to play for MRA, what would you choose?

Our country was founded on racism - the 3/5ths Compromise - you're still here in the USA, though, right?

Things change over time, don't they?
