Louisiana maybe? He and Napier just swap jobs.  😂

Ha, that would be something.

I suspect Dan will get a better offer than Louisiana, and also Duke HC for that matter.

I'm all for Dan landing as Louisiana's HC and start his mess calling LSU "The school down South."

That’s another shocker.   What’s next?

Honestly though, I don’t think other SEC programs will lose sleep over that hire.

Miles and Orgeron won Nattys at LSU, and Kelly is definitely better than both of those.

At the same time, Kelly has been around a WHILE (isn't it 12 years?) leading Notre Dame and still hasn't won a Natty with those resources.

It's a solid hire, but not a splash hire. It will be interesting how well he does at LSU as he faces a MUCH harder schedule than he did at Notre Dame.

ND has always been a pretender since he has been there, not a contender.

You make a great pint about Orgeron and Miles winning at LSU though.  I would think Kelly has had just as much talent at ND though and an easier path to the playoffs.

Now ND is a school I could see Fickell at.

Fickell is my best guess at ND.

Saban? Yeah... .0000000001% chance he leaves Alabama for another job.

Urban Meyer is also rumored for the ND job. Maybe? I don't see it, but I sure wouldn't rule it out.

Saban is Catholic. It sounds absurd but it is possibly the only place he would leave Bama for.

However, He is 70 years old so I doubt that it happens. I suspect he retires in the next couple of years from Bama, possibly after winning a NC.

I highly doubt Saban leaves Alabama for another job... the rest, I agree. He's 70 and has a well oiled machine going with zero chance of getting fired. I also agree Saban has 2-3 years left before retiring, 5 tops. This leads into my opinion that Kiffin stays at Ole Miss for a few more years and takes the Bama job when Saban retires.

I actually think pretty highly of Kelly. I know his teams have gotten waxed in the Playoff but I think he has the same championship ceiling that most coaches would have at LSU while also having a higher floor than what they’ve had in recent years. He may not be Saban but he is an upgrade from Orgeron and Miles.

I would be pretty shocked if Matt Campbell or Luke Fickell doesn’t end up at Notre Dame. This is supposedly the kind of job those two have been waiting for.
