10. Petal

Petal really? Just because Boyles is back you think they are a top 10 team this season. They are no better than 5th in the region this season.

They averaged 35 a game. I'd say thats some pretty good production.

7-14 of that was attributed to their defense in most cases. They generated a TON of turnovers and points for them. Offensively they were okay, but benefitted from a bad region overall. This season, they could really, really special with 3 OL returning, their leading rusher, and some great athletes out wide.

I'll go on record and say that Louisville will win the North this fall and they better be a bad ass south team if anyone is to defeat them in the ship

Well the thing is if Poplarville and this is a big if can run the tables in 4A South, they’ll have another chance to try to get it done.  When you think about programs and programs with an excellent coach with a high winning percentage that hasn’t won a gold ball yet, this is the coach and program that you think of.  Nothing is ever easy in 4A and it has to be earned.  It would be almost foolish to pick against Louisville and with good reason, but I know Coach Beech is ready to put that old nagging load behind him.  I reckon I have faith that he can and will get it done.
