Hattiesburg @ Picayune

At first glance this game looked like an easy win for the tide. After looking at it a little more true enough Hattiesburg is down to their third QB but this game was always going to be about the tiger defense vs maroon tide offense. Hattiesburg imploded in Laurel . I thought their defense had been pretty solid up until then. Look for some shenanigans out of Vance to start the game, Especially with a new QB. He will try to get control of the officials right off the bat.

If the tiger defense can get some stops early things could get interesting. That's a lot to ask but I think it's their only chance. If they give up an early score or two Hattiesburg could get demoralized and get steamrolled

So you’re telling me there’s a chance lol??? I’ll say Picayune big in this one. All the things you’ve said are absolutely correct. But I just don’t see Hattiesburg bouncing back after the beating Laurel gave them. If they were more experienced maybe but they are young I believe they along with WC will be front runners next season in region 3 5A

Is every team in 5A south very heavy on the 10th and 11th graders right now?

West Jones had 12 seniors returning from last years team as of the spring.  By week 2 they were down to 10.  And as of 3 weeks ago, its 6.  They have had a slightly different starting rotation each of the last 3 games with 12-14 starters being soph's or juniors.  They are also rotating a LOT during the games changing up the lineups.  At one point they had 4 9th graders on the field this year.

Fully expect Picayune to win but it would be a hilarious Saturday morning on here if Hattiesburg pulled the upset.

why hilarious? do you think that poorly of the Tigers that it would be hilarious for them to win? Their fans have been serving the koolaid all year on here, surely you have had at least a sip.

No. I’m sure Picayune fans are confident and rightfully so. But the smack talk Hattiesburg would deliver after the fact would make for fun reading for me. Outside looking in.

He just knows it's a huge task now for HHS to go down there to win without our best player. And now nobody is giving them a chance or taking this game seriously.

come on, man. you guys have a chance. and a lot of us are taking it seriously. best player or not.

you are still the Tigers. you still got your coaches and rest of the players. and your are coming in here off a 50-0 drubbing so no doubt you guys are not gonna take anything for granted. heck when i think of it we may have no chance at all.

I'll say this for the Hattiesburg posters, they don't make excuses and they don't throw shade on the coach when they lose

no they throw no shade on the coach they support him. thats fact. but we already hearing about their missing best player and we havent even played yet.

Thats not going to be an excuse if we lose. its just gonna make it a little harder to win.
