Vott Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Even though its always the first region game, this one always determines the region winner. Will that be the case this season as well?

maroontide06 Posted yesterday at 01:40 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:40 PM This is one of those questions that you ask that you know the answer to before you ask it. Very funny. LOL.

Very funny. LOL. I honestly dont know the answer to this. Is PRC going to have a say in who wins the region this year? You really cant look at it from this perspective but on the other hand you cant help but notice that PRC gave Poplarville all they wanted but Poplarville dominated Picayune. Also PRC is better than last year and Picayune, while still a good team has dropped off a little. It will not shock me if the loser of this is a 3 seed come playoff time. maroontide06 Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM @Vottthe game of football isn't rocket science. In order to win football games, that means you have to score more points than your opponent. It's that simple. If you can't do that, then you can't win. maroontide06 Posted yesterday at 02:15 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:15 PM But to answer your question directly. The winner of this game won't determine jack. You can also throw in the word that goes after jack as well for color purposes while also keeping it G rated on the board.
slicklizard Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM I don't think it will determine who wins the region but it will put the winner in the playoffs barring a collapse. Pascagoula 's defense is going to give the spread teams in the region fits and if the spread team isn't strong on defense will likely beat them. coastfootballfanman Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM Region is as wide open as it probably has ever been. I genuinely think PRC, Pascagoula, Gautier, and Picayune are all good enough to win the thing and you also have Hancock that could surprise someone. If Picayune can find some offense and if Hancock can find some defense, then it could get real interesting. There certainly isn't a clear cut favorite. They probably could if they were in Bay's region and classification. Bay is currently on an 18 game skid and their last win was October 11th, 2024 against Moss Point. Archer
Coach Green has certainly improved the defense but the offense is their worst enemy by consistently not sustaining drives and wearing them down by the third quarter. I'm very curious to see the adaptations on offense following the bye week. They can only do so much mid-season but there have to be some tweaks and changes to squeeze more juice out of this offense. I don't envision Pascagoula scoring enough to breakthrough in Picayune for the first time since '88.
