I hope so. Not sure if West will have all the "horses" needed, but I know that Coach Pierson will maximize

what he has to work with. In the 20+ plus years he was there before the 2 year break, I witnessed many, many

wins that were not because West Jones had the better team. The other team was just out coached, out played,

and out schemed.  2008 was a re-building year, West went 3-3 in region, snuck in the playoffs, and somehow

managed to win 3 games, before falling to the eventual state champs D'Iberville at South State.

West Jones pretty much locks up a first round home playoff game with a win over Terry this week.

I agree. In saying that, on tiebreakers I know you can only get a 12pt max win to keep teams from running up the score. So I would for sure try to get a 12pt win or more as much as i could. Even if up by 9 I would either try to score a FG or TD in the last seconds of the game if possible. You never how much you will need on a tiebreaker.

With running clock after 35 point lead in 2nd half which does incentivize some to run it up early, they may as well move the 12 point max tie breaker points out to like 24 or more.

A 35 pt lead is not only in the 2nd half. Brookhaven had the hot clock on Laurel after one period. And Hattiesburg had the hot clock on Jim Hill midway thru the 2nd. Speaking of a hot clock, it never stops after you get a 35pt lead. But could you imagine if a team trailing by that much somehow cut it to a 7pt game and the clock kept running with you on offense running out of bounds or throwing incomplete passes.

You would certainly think a win here would do that, with the games left to play. Terry has always gave West Jones

a pretty hard game. We are 4-0 in the last 3 years though, with about a 10 point average margin of victory. The smallest

margin was 2 and the largest was 17. I don't expect this to be cake walk easy, and hopefully WJ will execute like they did

in the 2nd half last week vs George County, as opposed to what they did in the 1st half.

I believe WJ takes this between 17-21 pts. Terry does not seem to be as strong as last season but are surely respectable. In fact no one in 6a south seems to be as strong as last season. Hattiesburg could easily be at 2-4 right now. West Jones has two wins that could have been losses vs Wayne Co and George Co and Picayune could have lost vs Biloxi. I could see a south state final between two teams with 4 or more losses.

It’s supposed to only be if 35 point lead at halftime.  But coaches can talk about it either way officials pre-game and decide to go it earlier if one team gets a 35 point lead.  I think that is what happened with Laurel and Brookhaven.

Thst game is on YouTube.  Brookhaven took opening kick to the house.  Laurel then fumbled vall away their first offensive snap on their own 15. Then their 2nd possession it took 2 snaps to fumble. After 3 and out on their third Brookhaven scored in 1 play.  Brookhaven was up 28-0 with less than 5 minutes off the clock and ran 5 offensive plays.

Terry had the real good rb from ridgeland last year transfer to them.  He could work out the west defense which still is a massive issue. West offense should not have any problems moving the ball however.
