greenandgoldhawk
This is the second week of region games for a few districts while it looks like some teams are still in non-district play. Also looks as if a lot of teams are having this week as a bye week to prepare for the upcoming district play. Maybe there needs to be a better job with assigning teams to districts. Outside of football, a number of teams crosses between north and south half teams to help make regions have more football playing teams. On another note, there are a few rival games going on this week. Pretty interesting game there in Winston County with Nanih Waiya/Noxapater game, and with neighboring towns with South Delta/Simmons game. THURSDAY Bogue Chitto at Enterprise-Lincoln Ethel at Leake County Nanih Waiya at Noxapater Smithville at Byers West Bolivar at Shaw (possibly to be played at West Bolivar) FRIDAY Ashland at Coffeeville French Camp at East Rankin Hatley at Thrasher Humphreys County at Leflore County Lumberton at Richton Sebastopol at McAdams Simmons at South Delta Stringer at Wayne Academy Taylorsville at Resurrection Tupelo Christian at Rossville Christian (Tenn.) Vardaman at Hamilton Walnut at Biggersville West Lincoln at Salem Edited October 6, 2025 by greenandgoldhawk

Money05
Nanih Waiya & Noxapater should be a very good game that quite possibly decides who will be Region 5 champion. As far as other big matchups go, I think Simmons wins big. South Delta has played a weak schedule and lost to Leflore County by a huge margin when Simmons beat Leflore handily. Another team to keep an eye on this week is Stringer to see how they handle the big loss to Taylorsville. Wayne Academy is one of the better teams in their classification, and they have picked up some good players. They need to bounce back in a big way. greenandgoldhawk
Some of the other matchups I’m looking forward to in helping shaping up region leaders after this week’s games are the West Tally/Leflore County matchup, Taylorsville/Lumberton matchup, and Sebastopol/Nanih Waiya matchup esp if Nanih Waiya beats Noxapater. Raiders 10
I didn't know Vardaman not that good this year and Hamilton should win that game easy
Money05
According to Maxpreps, Nanih Waiya 41 Noxapater 16 in the 4th. Did not see that coming.

Lumberton is really the only bump in the road, and they only beat a mediocre at best Richton team by 2 TD’s last night. Enterprise won’t be a blow out, but I definitely think Taylorsville is the better team. Plus it’s at home.
Bender20
With our offense you don't know we fixed some stuff so prop to coaches but we still don't got no pass game we run better last two games we find a pass game we can be tough with our defense

You are just now playing 1A teams, so you’re having more success. And players are getting more comfortable in the offense

Them change had to be make so good job by coaches to fix the stuff that was problems and if they get some passing game a little they can be good in south state Edited October 13, 2025 by Bender20
