GTownDanger06
Grenada comes in having won 17 straight games. Oxford is coming off of a close game with #1 Tupelo. I am more concerned about this match up than I was with the overrated Hattiesburg team last year in the SC.
maroontide06
This seems like an intriguing North matchup. It's similar to our game with Ocean Springs Friday night. A top team in 6A North vs. a top team in 7A North. We got into a shootout with Ocean Springs and lost 56-42. This game could follow that pattern or it could be a defensive battle. Win or lose, neither team in this one is bad, but there will be a team that out athletes the other. My question would be is this a letdown game for Oxford since they played Tupelo so close or does this game refocus them to finish with a W? Not that it matters, but how can you say that HHS was over rated after they beat very good teams last season? Beat a 7a playoff team Petal 7a playoff team Oak Grove (who somehow and I dont know how beat Grenada) 6a power West Jones and 6a power Picayune. Not saying that because I am from Hattiesburg either. Any team with those kind of victories over those opponents is not an over rated team.
Dubaction
That whole idk how Oak Grove beat Grenada narrative is strange to me. Oak Grove was good enough to beat anyone last year but also inconsistent enough to lose 4 games. GTownDanger06
Grenada defense is not what it was last year by any means and the secondary looks lost all the time however athletes covers a lot of that up. Just watch the Winona game and the Holmes scrimmage. if Grenada secondary doesn’t get it together Oxford will win this game. Oxford isn’t the better team but they are always well coached. GTownDanger06
Grenada secondary is the opposite of no fly zone. Oxford 35 Grenada
