greenandgoldhawk
Week 1 is behind us. It it still season openers for a handful of teams. Some teams were dominant as expected. Some team were surprising. Stringer is looking like they are heading in the right direction. Region 8 might be interesting to see how they finish. It’s too early to call it but Region 5 and Region 8 might be the two most competitive regions in 1 A this year. Which 1A teams impressed you? Which 1A teams disappointed you? Which 1a team looks like there is potential for a turn around? Which matchup are you looking forward to seeing this week? THURSDAY Alcorn Central at Thrasher Myrtle at Potts Camp West Memphis (Ark.) at Strayhorn FRIDAY Amite County at Richton Biggersville at Tishomingo County Bruce at Vardaman Byers at Holly Springs Calhoun City at Aberdeen Clarkdale at Stringer Christian Collegiate at Resurrection East Webster at Nanih Waiya Ethel at St. Andrew’s French Camp at Eupora Hamilton at Noxapater J.Z. Chunky6617
I’m gonna be watching a couple games really closely. Well, 3 games actually and it’s the 1A/2A south matchups. Stringer/Clarkdale: Im curious to see if Stringer can avoid a letdown after their big win against enterprise. Lumberton/North Forrest: I’m not one that’s on the Lumberton train this year as much as a lot of others seem to be. I think north Forrest actually wins this game. They are improved. Tville/Bay Springs: I want to see how Tville bounces back after getting up so big for their county rival. I really think they could have made week 1 their superbowl, and I’m curious to see if losing that game causes them to trend downward. Their offense is about to face 3 very good defenses the next 3 weeks in a row and I could see them struggling to score at all the next 3 weeks. An 0-4 start is likely and that could cause them to give up on the season.

I think Clarkdale will be very similar to Enterprise, but will Stringer be able to carry over the big 2nd half they had against Enterprise to this game? Luckily it’s at Stringer, so that should help. Not really sure what EW has coming back. Nanih Waiya returned almost everyone plus picked up a kid from Louisville who had 180 yards rushing and 3 TD’s last week. I heard their good back from last year tore his ACL in the first few days of fall practice. I think this game will show whether they’re legit or Vardaman is just not as great as people thought. I think NW is improved this year and will make this game much more competitive than 55-6. If they can win it I think they may be in the running for 1A south favorite. Chunky6617
East Webster returned a good nucleus from last season and are pretty dang good I think. I kind of like them as the 2A north favorites

s1nglewing
Bogue Chitto is very well coached and their half-spin series is going to cause a lot of confusion for defenses. Yeah, they got rolled by Wesson... but Wesson is going to roll a lot of folks this year. BC could very well not lose another game in the regular season. They’ll definitely win their district and win most of their games except maybe this week against Pisgah and Loyd Star. Those are toss ups for me. By looking at bracket they will run into Region 5 #2 2nd round which will be Nanih Waiya, Noxapater, Sebastopol, or Leake County (probably Noxapater or Sebastopol IMO). That will be tough for them even though they will host.
Bender20
Taylorsville ain't beat Bay Spring! And if they was up for Mize lord what is up? Them don't hustle and just be walking around on that field,, can't call no play even after timeout and don't know what a pass is either side the ball. They wouldn't up for Mize. Couldn't even snap the ball right half the time and QB can't throw.Up for Mize? Them boys look like they don't care or something! I don’t think you understand that Tville don’t have the same kind of players they used to have. And you really gonna see that even more after this season
