The elephant in the room is 260

It’s really not. You got offended by a factual statement, so you tried to make the post about mize. He had 43 carries against mize and averaged 6 yards per carry. Again, that’s good. But it was well below his season average. The next week when they played the best defense they faced all season, he had less than 30 yards. The point is that his stats are padded due to playing an extremely weak schedule every year. That’s a fact. Sure he can have a good game against a good opponent, like he did last year against mize. But could he do that consistently playing against good teams? He wasn’t able to do it the very next game against a better opponent. And that’s the point. If they played a tougher schedule, he could not consistently rack up those kind of big numbers. He’s a 1000 yard rusher instead of a 2000 yard rusher. And that’s still good

1st off...I rarely get offended.

2nd... your statement that the kid padded his stats playing inferior teams is weak sauce to deflect from his performance vs Mize, when he dump-trucked y'alls much-touted defense.

The following week LS had a different game plan that clearly didn't work out - tried to pass a lot, which was obviously not a strong point in their repertoire.

Give the kid his due instead of throwing shade. He really is a big, strong, pretty fast back. I believe he already has at least 1 D1 offer already before playing one snap as a Junior.

1) You 100% got offended. That’s why you tried to make it about mize.

2) I don’t know how many times I can say he had a good game against mize. Your description of dump trucking mize is wrong. Again, he had 43 carries. Thats 2 or 3 games worth of carries for most other backs. He averaged 6 yards per carry. Again, that’s good. But it’s not great like you seem to think it is and it’s about 4 yards less per carry than what he was averaging coming in. And Mize did not come into that game with a “much-touted” defense. Last season was a mediocre defense for us at best.

3) They had to go into that game with a different game plan because there was no way they were going to line up and run it right at Raleigh. Mize actually had two runningbacks that rushed for over 100 yards against Raleigh. And nobody had thrown shade at the player. I have repeatedly said he’s a good back. His stats are just helped out tremendously due to playing one of the weakest schedules in the entire state.

In my opinion, no matter who Loyd Star is playing Kees is going to find a way to make his presence known. He is a really good player. Does Loyd Star play a weak schedule consistently? No doubt. Does that help make his stats look better? Absolutely, but even if they played a gauntlet of a schedule with a tough defense every week the kid would find a way to shine. His stats wouldn’t be no where near what they are now against bigger, better defenses because football is a team sport. Loyd Star doesn’t have the O-Line to block some of the top D-Line’s in the state. As long as he stays healthy and out of trouble, he will play college football without a shadow of a doubt. Loyd Star goes as he goes.

I agree. Without that schedule he’s a 1000 yard rusher, not a 2000 yard rusher. And that’s still good. He’s a good player. And the thing is, he’s one of 3 good backs that LS has. They really are a 3 headed monster in the backfield.

For sure. They’ll be competitive in 2A once again. Them and Mize would be another great matchup. They possibly could have problems with the spread also, so that could give Mize an upper hand this year compared to last.
