Chambliss is headed to FCAHS. I think Adrian Agee is the only coach left at the entire school for every sport. I think the baseball coach is leaving after this season, the softball program may not even be around next season. Boys basketball coach is gone. Not sure about girls basketball, but heard she is leaving.

School started having issues about 8 years ago or so and it’s just been a tough job trying to get it going again. It’s not a bad school, but it’s also not really a good school anymore. And Smith County cannot pay what other counties can although they have gotten more competitive with their pay the last couple years. There’s always a big exodus of teachers every year it seems, and this year isn’t looking any different it appears

Super run off all the Taylorsville people and put in bunch of trouble maker and all the white people took they kids somewhere else and move out town.  Super was letting trouble kids come in from out county.  Ain't nobody left here no more West Jones and Mize got more Taylorsville people than Taylorsville.  The town coming apart now even the mayor move out lol.  Place be dying fast. They gone consolidate it to Mize for it over.

Mize doesn't have the room for those kids. Options are:

1) Redraw PreK thru 8th grade into 3 County schools currently in place.

2) Redraw 9th-12th grade schools into 2 with most students north of Mt Zion to 35 North straight across and north going to Raleigh. South of Mt Zion, Taylorsville proper, and Sumerland west go to Mize.

3) If Necessary build 1 or 2 Elementary schools one being at Lorena along 35 and one at Polkville on 13. 

4) Build a new 7th-12th grades school along 28 west of Georgia Pacific/Roseburg for Mize/Taylorsville areas. 

5) Where consented should be used in whatever the Superintendent and board does i hope is used to simply rebuild Taylorsville in terms of leadership, teachers. Industry has to be brought in that some in the past in this county has fought off especially in the north. Growth has to be first and foremost. Look, why should a farmer or a Southern Pine employee have to go outside the county to buy work clothes and boots for work. Stores like Cato Fashions and Shoe Store is needed for women and girls. Western Wear for men is needed for men. Build it here and grow the tax base.

Most logical thing to me would be to send half the students to Raleigh and half to mize once they get to high school. Consolidation is not going to happen. The old super wanted it, but board would never support it. The new super does not support consolidation, and neither does the board. But eventually something with Taylorsville is gonna have to change because I don’t see they can continue having to hire so much new staff every year

Speaking of Tville, I have heard the girls basketball coach is leaving and taking another job. If her son goes with her, that Tville’s best football player. That would make things even harder for them next season.

Sounds like they need a townhall meeting and air out the problems. If a new principle is needed then so be it. They have to bring those kids back or it's over. No they don't have the money to build a new school. If students  continue to leave then technically sending kids to Raleigh and Mize is consolidation to an extent. Maybe leave Taylorsville as a PreK thru 9th grade to offset overcrowding Raleigh and Mize.

They got to hire Taylorsville kids and stop the bullshit!  They've bunch of Taylorsville kids in teaching and don't none get a call back from the sorry school district office.  They killing our school on purpose and been doing it.  Mize got more Tville teacher than Tville.  That got to stop!  Give us our school back!  Stop running off our people!  Hire our people!  Southern Oune turns they back on Tville too.  Can't but one in a family work there now. They bosses be from out town.

They have Tville people hired at Tville. Heck they have been hiring mize people at Tville just to try to make Tville more like mize. But when one of your own counselors, who ain’t a white person, who went to school and graduated from your school and still won’t even send their own kids to Tville, and instead sends them to the church school in the same town, it’s a deeper issue than you are willing to to admit.
 

There have been kids at Taylorsville, black kids… who stayed in trouble every week and was constantly suspended. And as a last resort to help those same kids, they have been sent to mize and within one year those kids have made a complete turnaround. They are no longer being suspended every week. They are now making better grades. Why is that? The only difference for that child is that he is now around more structure and other kids who know how to behave. The only difference between mize and Tville is the CULTURE. It goes beyond the school. It goes to the culture of the environment that they are in during the day. The school is only part of it. The adults in Tville have got to start having more accountability for when the kids ain’t at school and for how the kids behave when they are in school.

Definitely a leadership problem. Whip that tail a few times and things will change.

Ain't gone happen cause too many done gone.  That why they got to hire Taylorsville kids back here that graduate college and they know what the culture was before the quitters and troublemakers mess it up.  It time to completely expel the problems permanently and fire the sorry people in charge that don't be doing the job!  We had principal here that was stealing drugs from kids and sleeping in he office.  The principal now is Hillman hire and  counseler ain't no Tville person neither less they change something.  All the office people done quit too.  Wrong people leaving and bad people staying. Sorry I cuss in this but we mad about what they doing to our school and it was did on purpose and we don't see nobody doing what they do to fix it.  Got to fire the Hillman people and get them out there!

You can't fire a principle or teacher without cause. Best to offer lower salary and hope they leave. Then bring in Tville people.

If they make it past the first year then their contract can’t be non renewed. You will have to put them on a plan of improvement and make darn sure you document everything in detail before you are able to let a teacher go.

The school should already be on a plan with either a C or D rating in testing.

The post was about a teacher not the school. A school does not go on a plan of improvement unless it’s a bad rating years in a row. I guess you all think Taylorsville is the only school with a C rating.

I am saying over the last 5 years or so Taylorsville has been a C or D school. Then a number of teachers should already be on a plan. That may be one of the reasons they are leaving. I do wonder if the plan goes with you if you go to another school.

It does not go with you. It is one school term. Many teachers do leave because of that reason.

Taylorsville has hired Jared May as their new OC. He comes over from Scott Central. I have known Jared for a while now, great guy. I know he’s glad to be closer to home

I heard this morning more families leaving Taylorsville that been here a long time they moving to Stringer.  Stringer and Mize and West Jones getting all these Taylorsville people.
