BrickCity
I know people are saying they want to expand the playoffs, but what is the magic number of teams? I would like to see the top 10 teams make, and also shorten up the season by a game or two so the playoffs wont make the season last too much longer. Thoughts? Insideradvantage
I think it's the 12 they are kicking around. Absolutely no reason not to expand, though. It's about the only way our teams are going to get in, it would add a tremendous amount of excited to the season, etc. I wish it was next year. Why wait two? Get on with it already. Every single other division of college football does it. Hurry up already.

If they don't do something the college football postseason is going to be like the now defunct pro bowl to a greater or lesser extent. Im afraid its closer to that than we think. Miss. State last year is a good example and Florida this year is another good example

Bulldogs4
I think they need to cut the season to 11 games. 16 team playoff 5 P5 champs + 5 G5 champs 6 at large berths 1st round played on campus Remaining games after the first round are the top 7 bowl games…Sugar, Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Peach, Orange and Citrus Bowls. Additionally, keep the 10 other best existing bowls for 20 teams that don’t make the playoff. They can be Sun, Liberty, Gator, Holiday, Independence, Music City, Alamo, ReliaQuest, Las Vegas and Cheez it bowls. Or some combination thereof in the extra games. First round of playoff games could be the second Saturday in December. Then second round could be the fourth Saturday in December and the semifinals/championship first and second Saturday’s in January. The 10 bowl games could be be interspersed during the Holidays just like now. This would be a WIN-WIN all the way around. Playoff would be huge. But you will still have twenty deserving teams (just outside the playoff) playing in the postseason and they get the reward of playing one more game. 36 teams play in the postseason total. Now you have to earn it again. And like March Madness, the possibility of a little guy beating one of the big boys does exist. Certainly, the odds are against it but it would be settled on the gridiron and not in the media. And as I mentioned, NIL money would require players to play in all games , barring injury. Transfer portal would not open until after the NC game.
