The reality is this is high school football and not every school has the means to keep a grass football field in pristine condition.  I realize grass is the better playing surface, but when turf is the better option for a school and community you go that route.  If every high school in the State of Mississippi could have the Scott Field experience every Friday night when they play, then I don’t think you would see any turf fields, but apparently that’s not the reality.  Yes I do think grass is better,  but I’m certainly not a turf hater when it’s better than what was there before.
