Hubbard has led Ocean Springs back to relevancy in the playoffs and with consecutive undefeated regular seasons, and all Dowdell has done is carry Picayune to a state championship and the favored status for another one. Fans of good football have been treated these last couple of years. Only shame is that they didn’t face off on the field. That will happen next year between O.S. and the Yune. On one of the Facebook pages, there was a discussion about it, and none other than Cody Stogner confirmed that the schools have scheduled to meet next year in the fifth game of the season, which would be the last pre district game. The game is in Picayune with no second game home & home planned yet. Have y’all not heard of this? You’ve got other things on your mind this week. No I haven’t heard of it but I’m not on Facebook either. This is the only non-district opponent that I know of for Picayune so far. Poplarville, Gulfport, & D’Iberville are assumptions at this point. No it didn't explode LOL! But the last time we started 0-2 was 2005 when we started 0-3. That was the year Katrina hit, but we still managed to make the playoffs and finished that year 5-5. Maroontide’s head just exploded! won't happen next year. but if it does, i don't care...the outcome of non-district games is irrelevant. as long as we don't get injured and improve it is all i care about. besides west point was 0-2 last year and still gets to claim they were undefeated. we will just do that. Again, there will be a lot of weird stuff schedule wise when this kicks in next year, from 7A teams playing 2A or worse, to more out of state games.
