Who has home field in Round 3 if both are same seed. Region 5 over Region 8 or Region 7 over Region 6 or vice versa.

In round three the team that has hosted the fewer playoff games host first. If that number is the same then higher seed. If same seed then higher region number, so it would be 8 over 5, 7 over 6 in your example.

Heidelberg host Bay Springs

Pisgah will host Heidelberg

If Heidelberg lost it will be major upset.

Loyd Star host Raleigh

Mize host Raleigh

Mize host Scott Central

In our bracket, Loyd Star would travel to Scott Central or host Raleigh.

Mize would host both Scott Central or Raleigh. So Raleigh will be on the road in round 3 regardless of opponent.

I thought they changed the rule where the higher seed always hosted regardless of how many games they previously hosted.

In classes 5a-7a the no.1 seeds always host. Then when north/south state is played if two no.1 seeds meet up then regions 1/3 have the homefield advantage one year then regions 2/4 have it the following year.  In 5a Gautier 6a Picayune and 7a Ocean Springs, they all have homefield throughout the playoffs.
