Mendenhall is set to meet Columbia is the second round. Unlucky in the way the bracket fell this year for them..
-
Releasing the first week in November per various reports.
-
#5 will have to sit most of the first half due to being disqualified in the NE Jones game. Mendenhall should be comfortably ahead by the time he enters the game.

My takes from Petal: Petal will surprise some folks this year. Well coached and will improve. Several playmakers and big time athletes in back half of defense. Harrison Central is just meh. Hard to believe a school with that enrollment size can’t find a way to win consistently. Meridian is Meridian. Athletes galore but can they get out of their own way. Atterberry and Hill are a top RB duo in the state. Defense flew around and the DL control play for the most part. West Jones was very well coached as always. Don’t have the skill guys or OL of past years. Defense is always salty. Rase Jones will have a huge year at LB. Secondary is smallish but athletic. Seminary should be a playoff team in 3A. Several playmakers on offense. QB looked a little rattled at times. Defense is solid with good size. NE Jones has a chance to be a good team. Showed several playmakers out of the Wing T. Skill guys all look the part. DL was not great but back half of the defense all have big physical yet fast kids. will be a fun year in south MS.

Hill had atleast one run that went for 35-40yds to set up Meridian’s TD. Not sure where -6yds came from -

West Jones has a long way to go offensively. No legit threats outside of #6. OL is shaky at best. Defense will carry them, per usual. -

Nope. Escaping the Laurel Superintendent. Draw a nice paycheck with no pressure at all to win. Riding it out to retirement. It’s a gravy train. -

South Jones will be lucky to win 2 games. Long way to go there with a new offense being installed. -
I know seminary plays ne Jones at petal as well
-
What time for WJ and Meridian? Do you have a full schedule for petal jam?
-
Brandon’s offense will make many defense look average to not good this year.
