For that matter…… as good as Hubbard is with his legs.. he didn’t scare me much at all with his throwing ability. I guess that’s what happens when you actually face a secondary with a pulse. He’s a good athlete though. OS just didn’t have it in the trenches to hang with Oak Grove in the second half. On either side of the ball.

OS should’ve took advantage of those 3 fumbles. Oh well.

In a one game scenario yea maybe. But week in and week out in 6A or 5A etc….. that’s where it really matters. Getting to December after running through the gauntlet is what matters to us.

I picked West Jones to repeat at the beginning of the year but I’m not sure they will make it past this week.

Really? Since when? Haven’t been there in about 7 years. I’m still on the fence about making the trip. Got some prior engagements that may get in the way of being there live.

Definitely gonna have to respond to getting punched in the mouth by the defending state champs. It’ll be a fun one.

I did a little homework this morning. It’ll depend on what OG team shows up. If they’re on their A game on both sides of the ball I do think championship experience will prevail. But it’s also why I’m iffy about the game. If we come out slow and inconsistent like we have at times (Brandon, Meridian, Pearl games) it definitely won’t surprise me at all if OS wins. They have been solid all year and probably the best the coast has had to offer in quite some time.

We’ll see if OS is state title good or just coast football good. I haven’t bothered watching much of OS this year but I’ll be able to tell the difference pretty quickly. They have been a more consistent team than Oak Grove even if I don’t think they’ve played a tougher schedule week in and week out. But this stage of the year is old had for OG.

Not to mention.. that was a rebuilding year. 05 was a much more loaded team.

No. I’m sure Picayune fans are confident and rightfully so. But the smack talk Hattiesburg would deliver after the fact would make for fun reading for me. Outside looking in.

Fully expect Picayune to win but it would be a hilarious Saturday morning on here if Hattiesburg pulled the upset.
