I’m not sure Petal has the horses outside of the QB spot to make a run. Apparently they moved the QB from last year to WR and he’s a good athlete. Dunno what they have besides that.

Two of those teams are laughable in my world. GC should be decent though.

….are y’all serious? Itawamba, while being very good for their class and division, lost to one of the worst teams in 5a last year and it wasn’t even close. Why would Tupelo be afraid of them?

Neither Petal or Hattiesburg are ranked in any publication I’ve seen I’d say it’s more of a toss up than anyone upsetting the other.

I’ve kinda lost track of the jamborees/scrimmages scheduled for this month. Please post any that you know of.

Prior to last season, OG had been to 3 straight state title games. Has nothing to do with how good or bad the region is. We just play an elite brand of football.

It’s where they return the bulk of their experience. They were fairly young and inconsistent. They’ll be much tougher up front and much better in the secondary based on what I’ve seen at least. But we’ll see.

Any other teams playing a tough opponent from a different state this year?

Starkville or MC I think will come out of the north. But Oxford will be tough with that transfer QB. All 3 are solid at that position. Just my opinion though.

Definitely hearing some good things about the Grovers. Lots of talent and most importantly more depth at the skill positions than last year. I’m sure they have the Brandon game circled

He and his brother got Bama offers after a camp visit. On top of that he played a good bit last year. Pretty much won the game against Pearl when Barnett went down.

Haha we didn’t exactly whoop them it was actually a good game but Tupelo hasn’t made it back to the big dance since.

Couldn’t care less about either one. MS Gridiron and Pine Belt sports are my go-to.

I’m not sure really. I know he’s getting some college looks. But I thought they had a good thing going with the kid last year. He was just young but I saw the potential.

Only ones I know about is the QB Petal got from Biloxi and I believe OG got a skill guy from North Forrest. I tell you what I’ll be glad when the season rolls around and we can really talk 6A and 5a ball. Nothing but small school talk so far.

Seems like they only like putting teams on espn when kids have multiple P5 offers. We’ve got a handful of kids with D1 offers but only 3 with P5 looks.
