Unfortunately the two best teams in the north play in the south. Playoffs would be a little more interesting in the north if Simmons and West Tally were where they’re suppose to be.

When you’re a 1A school and lose guys like Gunn and Hatch, there’s expected to be some drop off.

This is that type of game that can give young guys a lot of confidence going forward as we approach closer to playoff time.

The fact that Harris has to be on the field is disturbing. Yes he’s our best WR and one of the best in the country but on paper we still have tons of weapons like Juice, Prieskorn, Watkins and Lee. It’s crazy that when he’s out our offense struggles so much. I still can’t understand the drop off Prieskorn has had this year. Juice has been kind of a disappointment so far. You’d think he’d be the one that stepped up with Harris’ absence but he hasn’t.

I wish Clarksdale had the same caliber team as they did last year because those Clarksdale/West Point games were fun to watch. This year I think West Point takes it by about 21.

One rivalry game this week that’s gotten watered down over the last decade that use to get a lot of talk on here with the smaller class posters is the Calhoun City/Bruce game. Can’t get more even of a series than 33-33-2 but Calhoun City has won the last 18 and the last 10 have been over in the 1Q.

I’m interested to see how Hartfield’s line will perform in the second half this week. They were absolutely gassed in the 4Q against MRA. Starters only really having to play one half in every game leading up to that game showed.

Ole Miss is the type of team that’ll beat Georgia but then lose the Egg Bowl. Fans are always given some hope only for it to get ripped away. It’s like going into Tuscaloosa and beating Bama but losing to Memphis in that same season. For some strange reason I just have a gut feeling that’s how it’s going to end. I keep reading from State fans that Lebby needs just one signature win this year. What better way to end this season and get momentum for recruiting than to win that game and ruin any hope Ole Miss had?

Got games like Oak Grove/Brandon, Prep/Hartfield and half the comments about a game that’ll have a running clock by halftime. Brandon/Oak Grove have split the last 10 games and split the two games last year with Oak Grove winning when it counted the most. Brandon had a rough two game stretch in Sept losing one to Clinton and almost another to Warren Central. They’ve turned that around and looked very impressive their last two games. Oak Grove had a rough Sept too losing back to back games but have won their last two. They’re a very dangerous team that just hasn’t had it all click yet and have their best game. This could be the game where it all comes together. I see a shootout like the Brandon/Clinton game in this one. With Prep/Hartfield we’re getting a rematch of the 6A championship last year. Hartfield had Prep’s number last year winning both ball games but this year could be different. Prep has one of the best offenses in the state that’ll test the Hartfield defense who got kinda exposed last week against MRA. Hartfield is coming off a loss and hasn’t lost back to back games in five years. I think that happens after this game.

And shocked the world against Arkansas. Just as impressive was they didn’t have any hangover the next game against Georgia.

Another game where Ole Miss goes into halftime not up by how many they should’ve been and it came back to haunt them this week. Rebels are done for. Saints suck. I’m through with football this year. Gonna learn rugby.

Right now I’d prob have BYU over Iowa St. They have already whooped up on a ranked Kansas St team and beat a ranked SMU team that’ll prob be in the ACC championship(that’s weird to say).

You could tell in the 4Q that Hartfield’s line who mostly play both ways wasn’t use to playing a full four quarter game. Had a lot of hands on hips.
