This rule has been in place for a long time. If you are coaching out of season, AAU, Fall Baseball, 7 on 7 Travel Team, etc., during the school year, NOT IN THE SUMMER, your team may not be made up of more than 60% of players from your school. This has been the rule for as long as I can remember.

Coach Campbell was there for a long time. He played at Valley. Larry Jr. played LB at MSST. Jason played QB at Auburn.

Caldwell has retired from public school and is now an elementary principal at a private school in North MS. To my knowledge, Bud has retired also. Think him and Rials that retired from Seminary are painting full time.

Heard thru the grapevine that the principal, both the boys & girls basketball coaches, as well as a couple of players were on the interview panel. If that's the case, that would be a huge red flag to an experienced coach coming in. But for a young coach that wants to build his resume, and then get out as fast as possible, still could be a decent job.

I would imagine Bo would most likely have to take a pay cut to come to Tville from Columbia.

Going to Petal to coach DBs

This will be the 6th coach in 10 seasons for the Tartars. Whole place reeks of poor administrative leadership. Also, to Chunky's point, Baseball & Softball did receive significant new facility upgrades during the time that both of the SUPT sons were the head coaches of those sports, but Football on the other hand is still in the same Field House that was built in the 1970s. Low pay, lack of quality assistants, & poor admin support make it not as attractive as it may seem. Only bright side to a prospective coach is the talent. Get your W/L record up and get out quick.

New Hope has also had a few turn them down as well.

He's also will make $300k next year sitting at home because he had a 2 year deal @ MSST.

The City of Gulfport & the Air National Guard are major sponsors for the game. That is the main reason it is in Gulfport.

They made a hard push the last time it came open for Mancuso. He does have his time in with PERS and can retire if he chooses.

Actually saw this happen about 4 years ago. Parents divorced & got custody agreements to allow kids to compete at 2 different schools. Then as soon as both were done with HS, they got remarried. Crazy stuff!!!!

Columbia has been on a 3 year rotation here lately.

Benjie is Bruce Merchants son. Bruce was the head coach at Pearl, Collins, & a few other stops.

It needs to rotate between the 3 venues (MSST, UM, USM). For the north teams to continually have to travel to Hattiesburg each year is not ideal. The way the crowd looks in the stadium is way down on the list of importance. The current rotation is good.

Brady has taken the Stringer job. Bay Springs promoted DC to HFC.
