Then you do it when you are up 28-0, not 56-0. And if you are beating a team 56-0 in the 2nd quarter, you aren’t learning anything about your onside kick team that you would if you did against JV in practice. The coach and the team weren’t trying to “practice” their onside kick. They were intentionally trying to run up the score. Anyone who tries to justify it is wasting their breath. Their is zero justification

There is ZERO justification for kicking onside kicks and purposely trying to run up the score when you are already up 50 points. There is no justification. One of the biggest problems right now with youth sports and high school sports are coaches with egos who disregard sportsmanship. You can blow a team out and still do it with good sportsmanship. For a first offense, the coach should be warned. After that, send them packing if they do it again.

Yes. Not for a first offense. After you’ve been warned to show class and sportsmanship and you continue to do the opposite, then you get fired.

Your assumption would be wrong. Believe it or not, sportsmanship can and still should exist. While we are assuming, I’m going to assume you probably coach a 7u or 8u youth league team and that makes you think that you are a really big deal, like a “real” coach.

Yes the coach deserved it. Glad he was fired. And yes there are some in Mississippi who would do it if they could.

They aren’t better than Heidelberg, but they could at least definitely frustrate Heidelberg. They will meet up in the 3rd round

East Marion wasn’t getting preseason respect. They are now. I was big on them from the very beginning. They are now on a collision course with Heidelberg in the 3rd round.

I think you missed what I said. I didn’t say we are dealing with injuries. I agree everybody is beat up right now after 7 games. We on the other hand have been beat up since week 2, and actually are getting healthy for the first time. We are getting healthy right here at district time while everybody else is usually getting banged up

For the first time since week 1, Mize should have all of their players available. A couple still won’t be 100%, but everybody should finally be back in the lineup this week. Now is the time to make a run, if we can avoid more injuries.
