I just wonder how much space is available at Mize and Raleigh. Will Taylorsville be Pre K thru 8th or PreK thru 9th. 9th to avoid over crowding at Raleigh or Mize. Maybe Raleigh Jr High goes back to the elementary school or you have 30 kids in some classes.

If I am not mistaken the coach left Rosedale and later ended up at South Panola University as some called it. Then the district became 2 schools. Taylorsville is more of internal conflict from the office, students and teachers leaving, etc, etc. It probably didn't help with crap at Superintendent office along with the supervisors shifting the supervisors and school board beats around. Taylorsville proper moved west, Shady Grove moved west, Burns moved east and Sumerland moved north. I think Taylorsville went from 2 board members to 1. Mize now has 2 which 1 represents Taylorsville. It has everything to do with western third of the county outgrowing the rest of the county. Its very similar to Jefferson Davis County. I just do not think Raleigh school building can hold all the current Taylorsville students if it comes to consolidation some day. I can see Center Ridge, Mineral Springs, and New Home kids going to Raleigh, the rest to Mize. But man its going to be an uproar.

Stringer and Lumberton i will say no. All others yes until they go north to Winston County.

Taylorsville only has about 200 fans at games now. And that's a push, more like 150 at most. There is something terribly wrong down there. Those boys need support in the stands. It can't be more than 10 years to consolidation time I suppose.

They usually struggle against Heidelberg, Bay Springs, and Mize. They have struggled against Clarkdale in recent years.

Will SJ run the score up or call the dogs off at 40-0.

Boyles did that one time at Wayne County a number of years ago. There are other rb's on the team. Probably he will tote the pill on running plays quite a few plays during the game. The question is can he pass. If not then a few pass plays from a younger qb may be needed.

I agree but so should those games right outside the county such as Bay Springs vs Raleigh. Bay Springs said Raleigh physically hurt his players. Maybe mentally as well since many are neighbors with each other especially those just north of Sylvarena, many work in Bay Springs and shop there. There really is no reason to shop in Raleigh. That hurts Smith County economics.

Charles Ray Lee took us off their schedule after beat Mize 30-0 in a called game after 3 qtrs. As I remember the center for Mize was injured in the game. Bobby Halls boys were tough. We ruined their undefeated season the year before on a late td. The Lee family has never forgot. Coach Robinson a Raleigh grad put us back on. We will see how things go going forward.

273 according to the highlights saw earlier. Mize offense is turnover prone and it hurts them. Defensively i don't think they knew who had the ball. They got boat raced and they were overpursing the ball carrier. And yes they were falling down before the rb was getting to them. Lots of arm tackles.

I think Mize offense is a work in progress that maybe gets better as the season goes along.

Heidelberg might be the only one in the South that runs away from their region opponents. Positions 2 thru 5 may very well end up all 4 going 2-2 in region play. A few weeks ago I thought Bay Springs was a automatic 2 while Enterprise/Clarkdale will be playing for 4th. Probably a tie breaker scenario on the way for at least 3 of the 4.

Raleigh doesn't want jobs or businesses. They are blocked on the north by the National Forest. Bienville will not let the county build a lake. There is no interest with the board discussing Consolidation.

It has never been discussed by the school board. Raleigh should have built their school north of town.

If I lived in Sumerland I wouldn't want to drive to Raleigh for school nor would I want to drive from New Home to Mize. Its ridiculous but it could be heading towards 2 or 1 county school within 10 years no more than 15.

I don't think that many Taylorsville kids or athletes are going to Sylva Bay. SB is playing 8 man independent football.

From what I saw Taylorsville had about 200 fans at the game including the refs. It obviously has gotten really bad down there in terms of support. Its bad when you the visitors can stand and here one guy cheering in the stands over there. And yes they were roughly 55% black 45 % white according to MDE last years reclassification. Alot more white folks have left down there for whatever reason. I always thought you could get past what the former principal did. Something is totally missing when the band might have 20 kids participating. They are much closer to Mt Olive than maybe I thought they were.

It will take a few years to turn it around. It can happen this year the OL has to get tougher at blocking and passing has to better timing.
