I don't. These people retire they should just stay retired. ITs nothing but buddy stuff to see the same coaches "coach" forever and make lots of money doing so. Give the guys thats in a chance. Make their lives better.

how does school choice "lead to less mooching of the gov't"?

Yall make it seem like this is just an easy solution to fix. 1) what "competent" people are going to work there? ITs nothing there. Nothing close to there. They go to Baton Rouge (Zachary) just to go to Wal-Mart or have to go 40 plus minutes up to Natchez. Thats not even countin the people that stay in the backwoods and rural areas there. Thats an hour drive at least. 2) The most competent people in the world can't fix the people problem they have. They are behind. Way behind in everything. Thats not even shade to them, its just the truth. They don't have industry or even regular businesses. Its not a mcdonalds in the entire county. It may be 1.5 grocery stores if you gone call it that in the county. You have a people that don't have good jobs. Nothing to draw from. No taxes. Nothing. 3) The place is so rural and far off that it would be a logistics nightmare to close them. It would almost be beneficial to them to go to louisiana to school. This is truly an unfixable situation to me. Its not about academics. They just trying to survive and make it out there. MDE can't solve that problem.

They been losing their kids to West Feleciana in Louisiana. About 20 minutes from them and they have good football. All the other public schools are at minimum 30 minutes from them on a good day. Its some privates in the county but their kids not hardly going to them.

They don't care about the MHSAA. They want them as far away from this as possible. They are not friends with the MHSAA. They almost disbanded them just a couple years ago behind that track kid at Tupelo.

North Jackson shouldn't be a home for anyone except a trash pile. Hughes is nice I thought there were 2 turf fields in JPS now. Every time we played Lanier it was North Jackson. Every time we played Provine it was Hughes.

Yall are really counting out Brookhaven. They just beat MC. IDC what yall say, Brookhaven will NOT be blown out.

Thats not what Pike county has. Pike county has 2 4A schools and a 5A.

Pike? Will NEVER happen and honestly I don't see the need. Pike will have 2 5A schools and possibly a 4A at next consolidation.

Brookhaven should walk 5A south this year....with that being said, 5A south and class 5A overall may be the weakest class top to bottom in the state.

Brookhaven can win state this year. You are severely underestimating them.

nothing.....they basically got nothing...

There will be no change to the reclass time table, however there has been a proposal voted on by the districts to delay the reclass cycle one year so we can get on cycle with neighboring states. Getting harder to get games for teams and can't get them immediately out of state because of the different cycles.

there may be a delay in the reclass cycle, stay tuned.....

This when I get irritated about this. Because cmon man.

They will play again next year. They already said they will expand the number of teams as well.

who is coaching there?

This is the 3rd sitting head coach I have seen this offseason, leave a HC job for an assistant position...just a smidget of interest. I have been wondering are we leaving on our own or are we being asked.

They are already telling schools to prepare for this and the other rule too. Both will probably pass along with school choice. So some schools will definitely lose and some will win.

student success in a school is much less about admin and teachers than home life and socioeconomics. The people that think School A has all good teachers and School B has all bad teachers is why that school fails and this one doesn't is actually shortsighted and disingenous.

I heard that no one is happy with the situation in Columbia. Big difference between Bilderback and Pogue.

The same as baseball and track and powerlifting lol people ask this question and forget that the boys have multiple seasons going on all the time. I promise you it’s gone be plenty that want to play

I didn’t see a topic about this but Starkville SD hired Jay Hopson as their Athletic Director. Will he be coaching football as well?

Lots of job turnover going on but all I hear are the same names and recycling of coaches. I also hear a lot of young guys getting frustrated because it doesn’t seem to be much path for them to be head coaches these days. As t least in places that actually care.
