Bert simplified it way better than I could. I will go one further there aren’t enough of us that didn’t have to leave there to have anything in life. The ones that stayed have had to stay gone from their families to be concerned about looking into anything beyond that. My world before finishing high school was to stay right there my whole life as most children do. My daddy almost forced me to go to college and he was right. I never lived there again. There was nothing but a dead end on what I could be if I had stayed . They claim they are there to help the kids but they are full of it . They only focus on what they can do for themselves and their family. Let the rest shoot it out in the streets. That time of your life you need something that is yours. Only yours. Pride in producing and owning your own things gives you a direction and it inspires you to half way act right. Nobody even asks these kids what they like and what they may be good at . Or their parents for that matter. Every parent wants it better for their children. I’m not talking about making you keep your cleats tied either before someone thinks but “Coach” . That’s just a shield that they run and hide behind when someone starts pointing their finger at them. Not to mention the latest lie they been caught in with the school rating. There’s more but that’s how it relates to me. Yes that’s what I was referring to , I’m glad I’m not like John the Baptist crying in the wilderness here because you see what I see and probably have for awhile. I think if I would have continued on up above it would have been clearer but it was going to take a lot more time. With that said this is going to be long so if you don’t like to read maybe scroll on by because it’s necessary to get the situation sorted out. A little of my history with it. Around 2013 or 14 I was leaning on the fence in our stadium joking with Coach Mangum as he was standing between Ronald Ollie and that big loudmouth receiver from Laurel (Cooley I think) as they were stretching during warmups. They had already started towards each other before after exchanging words . Out of the corner of my eye I saw Bubba Hathorne setting up trash cans for the drinking cups. I remembered him from back in the days of Bobby Hall . Marcus fired him on day one. Keep that in the back of your mind. Anyway I pointed at him not even trying to hide it because I never liked his sweaty palmed arse from his beat four days. I said you know if he stays around this team he will destroy it. Everything he touches goes to crap. He laughed and said he’s not coaching. He needed a job. Obviously he had come crawling back after his latest flame out. I seen Coach Mangum playing golf in biloxi a couple of years ago and shook my finger at him and said I told you what would happen if he stayed around. Todd Mangum is not going to say a bad word about anyone but he gave me that look that needed no words. I’m not blessed in that regard I can’t help but call a turd a turd. Coach Mangum won a title soon after and I kind of forgot about it as I didn’t really see ol red face around after that. Coach Mangum could see what was happening inside the courthouse and left. Hathorne had obviously been living with his lips on someone’s butt because next thing I know someone told me that he was responsible for hiring Shetland Gandy. WHAT!!!!! was my reaction. He’s now the principal and man is he making strides in getting the school back in line and saving them from being taken over by the state. I knew in the back of my mind that something was off with that statement. Honestly I kind of lost interest because I knew Shetland wasn’t going to do much as a coach up against what he was going to have beat. This was evident sitting in West Jones stadium and watching him coach his first game . During this time another transplant from jones county living out in beat four, neighbors with Hathorne coincidentally, gets foisted on Wayne County as superintendent by the school board. Another coincidence I’m sure he had hired Hathorne at NEJ to coach football when Finch ( not his name but he will cry to the mods) was principal at there. He had very unsuccessfully ran for Supt of education in Jones county before counties started appointing them and was sacked by the guy he was running against that actually won. Remember in the post above about BJ test scores, missing money and what that entailed. All that was happening as ol red face was rising to his current position . Shetland left when he saw the job was too much for him and ol red face started a new search for a coach. The Supt said that he was handing the whole decision to Hathorne. Covid hit and derailed that process. Kevin Gandy was appointed as an item because he he was the most experienced left on staff. He did a dam good job that abortion of a season. He was a better coach than Shetland and deserved better than the weasel move he got from ol red face. Bubba told him he would get a fair shot at the job but in the meantime he told his buddy Supt that it was going to be Todd Lowery. Lowery and ol red face have to have a past together somehow but I haven’t dug into it. Finch told someone on the school board so they could present Lowerys name at the next meeting and approve it. Someone from the school board let it out and my brother called and told me . I knew immediately what was going on and went with my cousin, and my brother to his school board rep . I ranted for an hour with this dude that Hathorne was going to put someone in that ran the same system he ran as a coach and it was unacceptable to let him be the judge and jury on the decision. It was going around about who it was and it hot quashed. Search ongoing but every time someone questioned ol red face about the new coach he reply nastily we are not going to talk about the coaching search. They keep it quite this time. Next thing I know he hired wing low t Hankins Bubba got his offense. He was going to show all of us. He hated Coach Boyles and anyone that watched him make the walk of shame after Marcus made him hand his keys to Todd Breland. He had already told several people he was going to be the coach as Bobby Hall was leaving but thank goodness Bobby had already gotten to someone, and I think he had planned it all along, that the coach was already on staff . That it was Coach Boyles and he could get the the job done. Now you see why he said lately that nobody that ever played or coached with Marcus would be hired there. That rules out Mangum, Marcus, Breland, Earnest , Collums or anyone else on the list. oldwareagle can add or correct me on any of that. Or wareaglefan he has been in and out of that building a lot more than our head coaches. That gets up to date on the coaching end. I will tie it in to the BOE and the test scores when I can type more. It needs to be said

First off the principal has to go. He’s already got Todd Lowery lined up as the next coach and if by chance the school board let someone else be over the hiring he will sabotage anyone else they bring in. The main problem is the west jones coach’s mother and that little two faced liar that has said he was retiring for the last three years but never does. They are running cover for some hidden hand. That has to get sorted out or this will never change. Like the man said above Mitch Evans, Todd Breland and Marcus Boyles all wanted the job in the last five years. What does that tell you ?

this will be my first game since Gautier in the playoffs the one that broke our coach and made him realize he can’t win at this level in MS. I don’t expect to be there long. I refuse to watch our kids get abused because of laziness

People look at what’s happening now and think. “” What happened to make Wayne County’s football brand fall off so fast their teams look horrible “ I think the answer is pretty simple and easily summed up. In a few words it’s just not a priority to win right now. Having a football team just checks a box on the forms they have to send to Jackson. Our school board is scared to death of running afoul of Jackson again and let’s be honest just good country folks that knew nothing of maintaining a school system in compliance. Enter good ol BJ as Supt your point man for implementing this new program. He could hook up to a bush hog and make a few rounds but this was way over his pay grade. In any event they cruised along a while with the schools not really taking the program serious because you think he was monitoring it ? Oh but someone was. Fast forward a little while later someone, it’s not clear who, found there was five million dollars missing from the school accounts in the banks. They blamed it on being hacked, lol. Somehow they got a couple back. Sure, heroes these guys. On the heels of this the state smacks the school district down with a borderline takeover grade. Everyone seems in a panic for it. The school board and BJ are lost. At this point Mangum had left and ol red face went from picking up trash after the games to making football hires. I kind of lost interest. I picked it back when they foisted this Jones County Supt upon us, They ran him out from over there but he was principal at NEJ and you know who hired to coach football? Ol red face and together they ran that football program into the ground. Oh and the two million they “got back” back from the hackers ? I’ve been around. That was somebody getting out in front of that failing grade report .That’s what was left after they chopped it up and spent it. No telling how long that had been going on. They knew Jackson was coming to see them. That’s why they are so paranoid about staying within guidelines now. They don’t want nobody digging around in that courthouse from the outside. IMO ( that’s to keep them from harassing Blake over legal points) I’m tired of typing right now. It gets worse as recently as yesterday. That’s just the infection I showed you there. I’m going to move onto the symptoms after I make a few people that are hiding out sweat a little more.

I was wrong about the Tigers . As long as the offense can half arse pull it's weight that defense is title capable. When them LBers grab someone they get put on the ground.

Hattiesburg defense is legit and a lot better than I thought. Oak Grove looked lost on defense the whole first half..

You finally won a game so I can’t hate. Maybe old red face can schedule more of these small schools for you at the meetings he wastes people’s money going to. Whoever took the decals off the helmets needs to stand up and own it.

They are what they were before the re classification. With us hitting rock bottom and Laurel falling off these mids are playing like mice with the cats gone. Poplarville would beat all three.

Seeing this run its course will be a grand day indeed. I’m not a fan of alcohol but I bought a hundred dollar bottle of red whiskey at the end of last season. We lost a few but won most and everyone knew the War Eagles were going to let you know you were in a game. All those great players deserved to win . They put everything they had out there. We people who followed the team we didn’t. Not really. When it came our time to put some skin in the game we have slinked away . This whole thing has been caused by three people mainly. After seeing both on the hoof I don’t think Hattiesburg will handle West Jones or Picayune for that matter. West offensive line reminds of them young shoats that WP has every few years with a RB dam near as big as they are. Tony Vance is a fine defensive mind on that side of the ball. On the offensive side he’s stuck in the lower classifications. If the coaches were reversed Hattiesburg would have won by 40+ last night. I don’t want them to do it but if they want a title they should come up with the money and go get that coach in Pass . He knows how to develop a QB.

The Shetland brother . Wayne County is still in the slump he started

This team only won three games last season so I don’t know which program was looking for the cheesy victory when they were making the schedule in the off-season. It’s not buttermilk biscuits this week. It’s cheddar bay . There won’t be a hundred people at this game. Ten years ago we would have chewed these guys up and sent them back to Mobile licking their wounds. Bubba Hathorne was picking up garbage after the games back then now he’s making the games garbage. Everyone is wowing over this freshman running back on the JV team now. Which is true he’s a load already but let’s be real. Like all the rest of the JV players the last few years he will disappear after this season never to be seen again. Hankinsthorne is already licking his jowls scheming up ways to waste another one blocking in the low t offense. He knows he can’t win in MS but you see he still keeps hanging around. Meanwhile we got colonel sanders and some guys who were driving a skidder this time last year as assistants. I can’t tell you how frustrated and sick of this Jones County reject garbage I am. People are complaining but they don’t really care what people are saying. Just order more box boxes of donuts and plan another trip to a MHSAA meeting on the taxpayer’s dime.

I think they scored a couple of times against a Lauderdale directional school who didn’t score. Same old song don’t plan on scoring twenty points and putting it all on the defense. Funny you should mention old busted head. That was all over him heckling our what we now know is really Bubbas low t offense. Maybe he was right all along. Think he would be interested in free season tickets this season as an apology.
