Arkansas/Vandy has been a good one through 3 innings. 2-2 so far.
-
Southern Miss hasn't been mentioned much ITT (if at all?). USM plays La. Tech tonight. The USM/La. Tech winner is in a good position to get a host spot. We could see 3 of the 16 host spots in this state.
-
Very much so. Well, other than Hoglund if we're including injured players. That injury was a HUGE loss for Ole Miss.
-
Florida beat Bama 7-2 to stay in the winner's bracket. Bama gets a rematch with UT tomorrow to see who gets another shot at Florida in the semis.
-
Nikhazy and Broadway have been solid. McDaniel and Diamond looked pretty good in their outings. Johnson showed some promise out of the bullpen also this week. Dougherty has show SOME promise also. He ate some much needed innings against Vandy. While he took the loss, he did eat 3 innings. IF Dougherty and Johnson can eat some innings while someone else can pick up a close (outside of Broadway), Ole Miss could make it through a regional. That's a big IF.

State has been pretty solid this year, I lean towards they make it through a regional. State, like Ole Miss, I like their chances better in a Super Regional due to lack of depth. (OM's lack of depth on the mound is much worse than MSU's, that's why I'll be pleasantly surprised if OM makes it through a regional). The one thing that may well have changed for MSU, there's a decent chance they won't be a NS now. MSU and Texas Tech are the only two NS that may drop out IMO... and Texas Tech can seal theirs with a win over TCU tomorrow. Even if TCU knocks out TT, TCU is getting in the conversation for a NS then. IF Stanford has a good weekend, I see them taking a NS slot. IF East Carolina wins the American tourney, they'll be in the NS discussion. Florida is another team to watch, IF they pull out a SECT title, I see them moving into a NS and dropping MSU out.

OM/Vandy got started and radar looks decent. Hopefully this game can be completed tonight.
-
Arkansas beat UGA 11-2. Rain delay now, we'll see if OM/Vandy can get the game in tonight or if it will delay until tomorrow.
-
I'm not sure where they can hang a banner on the golf course, maybe 18 small banners on the top of the poles in the holes? Great job by the ladies at Ole Miss.

Bama may end up getting in a regional and knocking LSU out of a bid.
-
I was looking forward to the MSU/UT matchup. Both have had very good seasons and didn't face each other this year. I was hoping it would be in the winner's bracket so it would be played later.
-
Teams on shaky ground typically get in over others based on name. I think LSU gets in. If you look at how strong the SEC is, that certainly helps LSU on top of their name.
-
UGA put out LSU in the 3rd game 4-1. UGA is "rewarded" for this win by facing Arkansas next.
-
Bama put out USCe today 9-3. USCe was most likely on the wrong side of hosting, I'm pretty sure they'll be a 2 seed on the road next weekend now. This helps solidify OM hosting next weekend win or lose tonight. This is also more of a reason to make a last minute change to not throw Doug tonight.

I'll have to pick Arkansas to win it. I'm just not sure how serious Arkansas will try to win it considering they're most likely the #1 NS no matter what happens. It sure wouldn't surprise me if someone like USC up and won it though, it could really help them in the regional seedings. USC probably isn't hosting a regional as of right now, but would definitely host if they won the tourney. Florida is a good darkhorse pick also, Florida may well be a NS if they won the SECT.
-
I'd rather Nikhazy not throw at all this week, rest his arm. As long as he doesn't throw long tomorrow, I can see it... I guess. Winning or losing tomorrow won't make a hill of beans difference when it comes to seeding the regionals.

MSU Basketball.... the transfer portal awaits.

Ha, well played. -
Nice road sweep for MSU. I think MSU was going to be a NS with just a series win, a sweep is a no doubt NS no matter what happens in the SECT. OM SHOULD be a lock to host after the series win this weekend, but winning 1 in the SECT would definitely lock up a host site. OM losing the first game of the SECT is very possible... if not likely. IF losing the first game means OM hosts anyway, I assume to get the SECT over with immediately and rest the arms for the regional. OM will struggle to get out of a regional with the lack of depth on the mound. Well rested arms MAY help them overcome that lack of depth. Arkansas- could enough be said about them this season? ZERO series losses in a strong SEC including a sweep on the road vs a very good MSU team and a sweep over a pretty good Florida team. Everyone expected Arkansas to be good this year, I don't think anyone expected them to be THIS good. Tennessee gets a nod for being the biggest surprise- at least to me. Did anyone expect them to beat out Vandy, or even Florida, to win the East?

OM picks up the series win at UGA tonight in extra innings 8-5. I expect tomorrow's game to be very high scoring, a lot of pitching has been burned. OM is likely safely a host at this point and nothing else matters tomorrow or in the SECT other than the seeding.
-
MSU takes the series with a 7-0 lopsided win tonight, goes for the sweep tomorrow. Sweep or not tomorrow, IMO MSU is safely a NS no matter what happens tomorrow or in the SECT. MSU is just playing for higher NS at this point.

Gov. T. Reeves of Miss passes bill banning "Revenge-Porn"
rebmus replied to MSUBulldog2010's topic in General Chat
No idea what "Revenge Porn" is, it's probably best left unsaid whatever it is. -
If the Clarion Rebel has a headline "Thanks Arkansas!" tomorrow, I don't want to see complaints. **

OM and MSU both picked up road wins tonight. We'll see how it plays out the next two games for SEC tourney seedings for these two teams. Arkansas wrapped up the #1 SEC seed with a win over Florida tonight. 1 of the next two games with a win, Arkansas will complete the season with zero series losses... that's VERY impressive if they pull it off looking at the schedule they had in and out of conference.

9-7 UTM won. No depth on the mound.
-
Ha, yep... were tied at the time. Down by 2 in the bottom of the 8th any MAYBE slug it out to tie it back up again... vs UTM.
