5-4 MSU and still batting in the 8th.

MSU finally got a hit of McGarry and made it count.. a 2 run HR after a walk.

4-0 Virginia still batting in the bottom of the 2nd. McLeod is out. Not the start MSU needed.

Virginia takes a 1-0 lead after 1 complete.

NC State beats Vandy 1-0 to stay in the winner's bracket. NC State is proving the doubters (raises hand) wrong.

MSU remains in the winner's bracket with a 2-1 win. TWENTY ONE strikeouts between Bednar and Sims.

Still 2-0 after 6. Bednar gave up 1 hit and had FIFTEEN strikeouts in 6 innings, what a performance. He gave up a walk in the 7th on 110 pitches so bullpen time.

MSU breaks through with 2 runs in the top of the 4th. That may be enough the way Bednar is mowing down the Texas batters.

Texas/MSU under way. The first inning was a nice pitcher's dual. 3 up, 3 down for both teams.

Virginia beat Tennessee 6-0, I didn't expect that one.

Now on to the 10th tied 6-6. Great game to watch.

The surprise, to me, is NC State playing so well. I'm sticking with Vandy/Arizona are the best two teams in this bracket. Whoever wins tonight obviously has the best chance to reach the finals. Whoever loses, I still like their chances of getting to the semis. (No disrespect to NC State or Stanford).

6-5 Vandy still batting in the 7th. Rocker rebounded very nicely after the first inning. Both teams in the bullpen now. Both teams may reach double digits before this game ends.

Yep, Rocker looked like we expected him to look in the second inning. 3-1 after 2. I also agree, Arizona better put some more runs in if they want to win.

Arizona had a heckuva top of the first. 3 runs on 4 hits and forced Rocker to throw 36 pitches. It hasn't shut up the annoying whistler yet though.

I caught the end of the game, definitely a weird finish. I felt it was a weak call, but one of the announcers was pretty adamant that is was textbook interference under the written rule. Maybe it was interference under the rule, but I really don't think the runner's intent was to interfere and doubt the double play would have been turned had the runner slid and been out of the way. As you said, pretty much a moot point. It was going to be 2 outs with Stanford down by 6... them coming back from that was slim anyway. Vandy/Arizona up shortly.

It's pretty well known Bianco is at the beach at a condo (his condo from what I understand). No idea when LSU wraps up their coaching search and makes a hire. There's pretty much no doubt Bianco is in play, I figure it boils down to who is really the #1 choice... who has already potentially said no... and how much they're (LSU) willing to offer vs how much the current school is willing to offer to keep their coach. We're on the same page, we will just wait and see who gets the job.

Any CWS predictions? I really like Vandy to advance to the finals. Arizona can crush the ball and I expect them to play Vandy in the semis. Stanford is obviously a very good team, I just don't see them on the same level of Vandy or Arizona. NC State has been a surprise to everyone lately. IF they stay so hot, they may well surprise that bracket and take it... I give them the least likely of the 4 to advance though. I'll have to pick Tennessee on the other side of the finals. All season long I kept wondering if they're as good as their record... I honestly still wonder for some reason but they've kept winning so I'll pick them. Texas is much like Tennessee for me. You can't much argue their record, but for some reason I still wonder if they're really the #2 team. I reluctantly pick Tennessee vs Texas in the semis. MSU winning this bracket would surprise nobody. There really isn't much difference between the top 3 teams left in this bracket. I lean towards Tennessee and Texas are a tad deeper, just a tad. It's really hard to pick this bracket between these three. Virginia, I give them the least likely chance of the 8 left. Nothing but respect to them for making it this far, I just think things went their way and they played very well at just the right time to make it this far. Now that I've said all that, Virginia will probably win it all over NC State in the final. Ha

I'm wondering if LSU has a current coach potentially in play that's in Omaha this weekend, such as NC State's or Arizona's coach? If McDonnell, Godwin, Bianco are the top 3... getting it wrapped up this week makes sense. IF LSU is equally interested in one of the current Omaha coaches, it makes sense they're taking every avenue before making a hire. Then again, maybe the "top 3" listed already said no or hasn't given LSU a yes OR no?

There's no doubt Bianco has SOME support from the right people at LSU, I'm not sold he has ENOUGH support from the right people at LSU. 1 trip to Omaha in 21 years will no doubt push off some LSU fans, I can't say I'd blame them. If Bianco didn't have ties to LSU, I highly doubt they'd consider hiring him. Maybe I'm wrong on that, just how I see it. Part of what plays into it also- Bianco made Ole Miss baseball. Ole Miss can't even consider firing him as long as he is going to regionals almost every year and going to Super Regionals ~40% of the time. If Bianco doesn't take LSU to Omaha by year 5, they'll likely fire him and move on. I'm sure Bianco will take that into consideration when making a decision IF LSU offers. Although, I see this playing a smaller part vs the following: IF LSU makes a substantial offer over Ole Miss, Bianco will take the job (as he should).

I'm still wondering if LSU is really going to offer Bianco. If Bianco leaves, I'll start guessing who Ole Miss hires.

Sims closed it out. That was a fun game to watch. Kudos to MSU.

Sims is dialed in strong now. ND is down to 3 outs trailing 11-7. MSU has 6 outs left, I really like their chances.
