Arizona takes game one 9-3.
-
No idea, but it appears it doesn't matter in the SR tonight. Ole Miss has 1 walk and 0 hits vs the Arizona bullpen in 3.1 innings. Still 5-3 Arizona headed to the bottom of the 8th.
-
5-3 Arizona after 5. Both teams are in the bullpen in the 5th. It may take 10 runs to win this one.
-
Diamond wasn't exactly sharp in the first inning either. 3-1 Rebs after 1. Arkansas 21-2 using 3 pitchers. NC State used 7 pitchers.
-
16-1 Arkansas after 6. NC State is on it's 5th pitcher tonight.
-
Arkansas 10-1 after 5.

Hmmm, potential good news for Ole Miss. It SHOULD help Ole Miss, certainly can't hurt. I can't seem to get the link where it clicks, just copy and paste if you want to read the article. In short, 2 bullpen pitches suspended. They both have been strong contributors out of the pen. Arizona pitchers Randy Abshier, Gil Luna suspended for Super Regional vs. Ole Miss | Arizona Wildcats Baseball | tucson.com

Arkansas up 7-1 after 3.

Arkansas hasn't blown many out, but it's hard to doubt a team that hasn't lost a series all year especially when playing an SEC schedule. I wouldn't bet against Arkansas winning it all.
-
I figured the Stanford/Texas Tech series would be a great matchup. While it still may end up a great series, I sure didn't expect that blowout today. NC State up on Arkansas 1-0 in the second.

IMO Ole Miss vs Arizona: Starting pitching- OM Bullpen- AZ Offense- tossup. (I think the two are very equal here in different ways, but Arizona hosts so I should probably give them the nod?) Defense- AZ. Ole Miss has had too many key errors this year, and too many close calls in the outfield with "almost errors". I think this will be the difference between who wins/loses this series.
-
Diamond will start tomorrow night for Ole Miss.
-
That would be a great hire for LSU. As mentioned already, A&M made a great hire also. The SEC just keeps getting stronger.
-
Yep. Tennessee and LSU meet up in the supers. Arkansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State also made the supers. It's possible the SEC will send 5 teams to Omaha, I think it will be 4.
-
7 of 8 national seeds advanced. The one that didn't advance was #6 TCU. TCU was somewhat a surprise NS to me, I thought Notre Dame would get that NS. While I like MSU's chances of winning the Super Regional, Notre Dame will be a very tough test I think.
-
Arkansas got a bigger series than most expected, but advanced to a super as expected. 3 super regional spots still open. LSU is one of them that could face Tennessee IF they win at Oregon tonight.
-
If I were an opposing team, I'd walk Elko every time unless the bases were loaded. Even then, I'd be tempted to walk in a run and take my chances.

I wasn't a fan of seeing Diamond and Nikhazy out there, BUT Diamond only threw 21 pitches while Nikhazy threw 28 pitches. Ideally, some other guys would have ate some innings and slowed down USM but the way they were hitting... I guess I get it. I'm glad I'm not Bianco in these situations. IF Diamond/Nikhazy have bad outings in the SR, it's easy to say it's because they were used today. IF Ole Miss would have lost to USM without throwing Diamond/Nikhazy today, it would be easy to say Bianco should have used them a little.

Ole Miss advances with a 12-9 win. Kudos to USM, they gave Ole Miss all they wanted and then some.
-
Yall are a bit early on this OM super regional talk. USM isn't going away quietly. 12-9 Ole Miss in the 7th.
-
Before the Hoglund injury, McDaniel was game 3 or 4 pitching, Myers was game 5 pitching. McDaniel got runnoft in the first inning. Myers threw a nice game, but it was too little too late. I'd call the pitching even tomorrow. I do agree on it is likely a slug fest. We'll see who's bats show up to win tomorrow. USM's bats >> Ole Miss bats today.
-
USM picks up the win in Oxford. Kudos to USM, they sure came to play today. I don't like Ole Miss' chances tomorrow.
-
Tennessee, Notre Dame, and NC State advances to super regionals. USM up 10-7 over OM after 8.
-
Ole Miss/USM scheduled to start at 6:30 CST.
-
Alabama put up a good fight against La Tech, but got eliminated. USM just eliminated FSU. USM vs Ole Miss later today- hopefully. If the rain comes back, it will be tomorrow.
