  1. Missouri all over USCe 24-0 already.
  2. UCF gave Oklahoma all they wanted. Plumlee is the QB and Gus is the coach for UCF.
  3. It's fairly rare that a false start penalty wins you a game. That was a much needed win for both teams today, MSU escaped with the W. We'll see how they build on this win. Pittman is all but done at Arkansas. He MAY not be the coach this Monday.
  4. Seems like we've gone from guessing who will win, to guessing when Arnett is fired and who is hired? LOL The past couple of years went to guessing where Lane took a job at to leave Ole Miss. Give it a few weeks, we may be guessing at BOTH? A pretty good slate of football to watch tomorrow.
  5. NIL. I've always supported players getting paid, but also said the way it was done will kill the teams like USM who don't have money to bid.
  6. The table next to me at lunch today had an "interesting discussion" about why Ole Miss is ranked too high/low. I've always said I don't care much about rankings early in the season and still can't tell much after 6 games. I don't "get" taking a strong stance either way. Currently Ole Miss is ranked ahead of LSU and Tulane (both wins) and ranked behind Alabama (loss). Seems pretty correct as of right now.
  7. Southern Miss down 21-0 already tonight, ouch.
  8. I agree with all except for the Ole Miss/Auburn pick. I have no idea who to pick in this one and suspect it will be a 1 possession game.
  9. I wouldn't call any SEC game for Ole Miss a "lock". I have no idea if this team wins 10 games or 7 games... I tend to lean towards 9 but 8 is just as possible as 9 right now. Auburn is obviously struggling, but they're certainly not easy to beat at home. They gave #1 Georgia all they wanted 2 games ago. Give Hugh a hand for that.**
  10. Off week for all three "major" MS teams this weekend, unless you count Southern Miss's Tuesday game as "this" week or "next" week. We're halfway through the season, we'll see how it finishes. Ole Miss is hoping for a NY6 bowl and will be disappointed with less. MSU is hoping for a bowl game and will be disappointed with less.
  11. Yesterday didn't change my mind at all on what Satch and I mentioned last week... I believe the East and West champions will have, at least, 1 SEC loss.
  12. Oh,, I saw it and totally agree... just a dumb decision by Miami.
  13. Georgia Tech beat Miami and Arizona leading USC. Both of these help the SOS for OM/MSU.
  14. It sure wasn't pretty, but OM and MSU both won today. USM- had a lead but still lost again. I feel bad for Will Hall. Hall is a decent coach, not near as bad as his record at USM.
  15. Big win for Bama against A&M. Bama is now the team to beat in the West after being kind of written off 3 games into the season.
  16. LSU's "defense" looked pretty bad again today. OTOH, Jayden Daniels is a heckuva player. A good bit of talent and plays with the toughness and heart you want from a QB.
  17. I'll go with: Ole Miss (probably a homer pick- this game is almost always weird lately) State. IF this game is somewhat close, Arnett will feel even more heat... which I find a tad silly with it being his first year and EVERYONE knew a move from the air raid would take time with personnel. Rooting for Mizzou- picking LSU. Rooting for Kentucky- picking Georgia. Rooting for A&M- picking Bama. I really don't care who wins the Red River- picking Texas. Southern Miss is actually favored this weekend last I checked, I hope they pick up the win... it's badly needed.
  18. Those are obviously the smart bets, but IF A&M and/or Kentucky wins this weekend... that conversation changes quickly.
  19. This has been an odd and mostly unpredictable season so far. 2 weeks ago, almost everyone was ready to hand LSU the SEC West and though Bama was in for a long year (by Bama terms). Today, I figure most would say Bama is the favorited to win the West. I'm really not sold ANYONE is the SEC is a NC contender right now and both divisions are more open this year than most. I doubt Georgia doesn't win the East... BUT, Kentucky and Missouri are still undefeated. KY travels to Athens next week while Mizzou hosts LSU. IF both teams win, the East gets real interesting. With that said, I think Mizzou is fools gold with that record and will lose easily next weekend. Kentucky, on the other hand, I could see them picking up a big upset next Saturday. Bama and A&M are 2-0 on the West side and play each other next weekend. The winner is obviously in the driver's seat. LSU still controls their own destiny since they still have A&M and Bama both left with only 1 SEC loss. Ole Miss "looks" to have an OK shot at the West but it's pretty doubtful IMO. Bama does have a loss, but it's not an SEC loss. With the tie-breaker, Bama has to lose 2 SEC games this season AND Ole Miss has to run the SEC table. It wouldn't shock if Bama slips up twice in SEC play this year, I'd be shocked if Ole Miss pulled off 7-1. Bama losing 3 is SEC play this year is pretty doubtful. Real chaos would be A&M and LSU beating Bama while finishing 6-2 while LSU has the second loss to A&M. Bama also finishes 6-2 with those two as the only SEC losses. Ole Miss runs the table other than Georgia to finish 6-2 in SEC play. A&M's second SEC loss would be Tennessee.
  20. BTW, shame on the Ole Miss fans that threw crap on the field.
  21. Yeah, that LSU kickoff decision was one of the dumbest calls I've seen. Keep in mind, I'm over 50 and have seen a LOT of dumb calls watching Ole Miss and MSU over these years... so it's saying something to be one of the dumbest calls I've seen.
  22. The Ole Miss offense is very different when Tre Harris is healthy. Dart had 439 total yards rushing/passing along with 5 combined TDs which is a strong game. Daniels had 513 total yards and 5 combined TDs. He was straight money today. Those two "defenses" today though- LULZ.
  23. It's hard to figure out LSU... are they the team that drilled State or the team in the other couple of games? Vegas has LSU winning so I'll go with LSU. IF Tre Harris (I doubt) comes back healthy enough to contribute... I like Ole Miss's chances. Ole Miss's offense after Harris went down has been pretty MEH. I'm rooting for MSU, smart money is on Bama. I'd love to see an Auburn upset of Georgia to help create more chaos, but I sure wouldn't bet on it. UK is favored over Florida and I may eat crow... I'll go with Florida. I'll go with UT. South Carolina sure puts up great battles, I just don't think they have enough to beat UT. No idea on Arkansas/A&M, A&M I guess. This should be a great close game... watch it be a blowout now that I said that. USC over Colorado should be easy money. I'm rooting for Duke, but I see them keeping the game close for 3 quarters before ND pulls away in the 4th. Bonus pick- USM hosts Texas State while Texas State if favored. Maybe it's an instate homer pick, but I really like this upset pick for USM to win.
  24. I had this game on the second TV and moved it to TV1 towards the end. Best game of the day IMO.
  25. I thought so also, we were both bad wrong. Bad weekend for all 3 teams.
