Who yall got? I Hear Tupelo QB out for the game.

South Jones 20 NEJ 17 final.

Nej on south jones 30 25 seconds left no timeouts.

Do the SJ scoring drive. They take kick. They Run wide right 5 yards. Same play 2 yards. Same play but no gain but nej late hit out of bounds. Moves ball into Nej territory first time for south the 2nd half. Then south runs it again same play 5 yards. Incomplete pass. Then pass qb sacked. 4th and 18 south throws nej corner goes for pick but missed south catches they get first inside 20. Couple plays later first and goal on 9. Run no gain same run on the right. Then again no gain. Then again nothing, then personal foul on nej. South scores right after.

South jones 20 Nej 27. 1:44 left.

South jones on nej 4 or 5. 1:55 left. This drive only going due to 3 meh screw ups. Will explain after

there’s a good stream on facebook

South Jones 13 Northeast Jones 17 7:01 remaining. south jones has a lot more offensive yards. All from first half. Nej has started 6 or 7 times inside the south jones 30, in a row, due to south jones having a punt blocked (2 maybe 3) or south throwing interceptions (4 I think).

SJ 13 NEJ 10 6:11 left in 3rd. SJ thrown a couple picks and had a couple blocked punts. They dominated time of possession it seems. And yards gained. But they killing thrmselved they should be up by 3 score at least.

South jones 13 northeast jones 3 halftime.

That was 06 I believe, wests worst year of the 2000’s. The year before that they had lost only to oak grove and was ranked then west and Wayne county both dropped 40 on them to end out the season.

I remember back mid 2000’s when petal dropped from 5A to 4A a lot of people thought they were about to do something. Then they got crushed by west jones and Wayne county.

It’s one thing for a city of a certain population to have its own school district then the county the city is in to have its own. But something else for there to be 2, 3, 4 school districts in a county with smaller population and several 2a or smaller schools.

A lot of people don’t understand why mt Olive and Collins dg int consolidate. Jasper county doesn’t need multiple school districts. Clark county also only needs 1 high school.

They missed opportunity for blue and white checkerboard pattern in endzones.

I was told Robert’s was on the field for petal in the jamboree and “we be playing” .

West jones 7 seminary 7

Jamboree at Jones College. Petal 14 Laurel 3 finsl. i got a text that said Laurel obviously slacking in weight room. They are tall all over field but weak. Db’s very suspect. Petal dominated both lines.

That kid never played a down in Georgia did he?

No I’m not.

There were some rumblings before last year the district was ok’ing to purchase land behind the baseball field that had gone up for sale. I don’t know if there was any truth or what came of it. A county bond passed in 2000 to build the new elementary schools, cafeterias at the high schools, performing arts centers and new libraries, cleared a few years back. There was mention the prior school board had considered another but when the new superintendent came in priorities shifted a bit. Supposedly this guy is on board with some sweeping facility updates, especially the gyms (2 of 3 have foundation or structural issues) so they will tackle things. No o e cares if another school gets baseball updates or gym updates first. But don’t dare let mention that one is getting football updates over the other. As example. Wests locker room damaged by tornado in 01. Insurance money was enough to fix it any pay for larger all metal one to be built. The old one became soccer and visiting teams locker room. Nej and south got new rooms paid by the county to “keep up”. But the money for wests did not come from the county so to speak. I could rant all day on this.

They were planning to flip it like you said 5 years ago. Turf has been talked about even longer. The booster club had the money to pay for both and had gotten multiple quotes. But the school board blocks all of it. They won’t let west do anything unless northeast and south jones gets the same thing. And neither has the funds to pay for theirs. South jones could raise the funds but northeast has zero chance. A few years back after south jones expanded and upgraded some bleachers and put awning over their baseball stadium some nej and WJ people brought up how could sj do it and not them. WJ was allowed to add some chair backs and put turf infield on baseball field as a response. Not sure what nej did. Sj also got a new fancy stadium entrance that the others did not. But any mention of expanding football stadium gets shot down. And the way the current school board is set up NEJ boosters have more votes. They are even talking about re-districting a community away from WJ and sending kids there to nej supposedly to “balance the student population”. It would swap about 100 students a year. The true goal is that the area is a hot spot for talent and the nej boosters want to end wests stranglehold on county football.

I wish jones county would do some work to their stadiums but various personal interests and infighting blocks it.

South Jones and/or Northeast Jones. Both had pretty good years last year under new leadership. For NEJ they moved up from 4A to the soft cuddly pillow that is 5A south. SJ did loose an important piece to petal. But either could make a surprise playoff run.

They are beatable. Just probably not by any current 5A south team.
